The angels came to this premiere in numbers (167 at one point) never before seen and for good reason. Debbie is a delight and brings us back to when each of us first learned of Angelina and her music. As always - the best podcast didn't disappoint. For ''angels'' this is the one to watch. Debbie, you did great! And you pointed out a few things about Angelina that I, as long time fan never had thought of. Her hand movements to her heart is one of those you see often when she is singing. And you Debbie, taught me that this is a natural hand movement for Angelina. And it means that she is singing from her heart. Heartfelt. Wow! I kind of knew it, but now I know for sure. Those bye's could easily kill someone but I'm all for them, risk and all. That was exactly as awesome a show as I would have thought. Debbie is delightful person to experience. Angie's tiktok of crazy will always Massacre me. Expressive with the eyes for sure, her smiles she can't stop, her zone she goes too when her eyes bulge out a bit, widen and she looks up. Contacts can be a bit of a filter for someone it seems sometimes, but clearly not always. I appreciate seeing the happiness and appreciation in her eyes, and the lack of a filter from her eyes at her age now even more, we know that's such a fight in life. You often hear the lack of filter from her heart still too, and do here. That tiktok just signifies everything I can't resist from her, considering we haven't even talked about vocally pulling off Patsy Cline of all people, but with her signature extra vibrato, quiver, ache, wobbly stuff on top. Signifies everything that helps me, when I binge me some Angelina.

Your looking for earthly terms to describe Angelina. That's why I've decided to think of Angelina as the heavenly choir's soloist.

If Angelina sings either "Crazy" or "You Say" on her concert Sept. 22, at Portsmouth, she should get standing ovations. If not, then the people do not deserve to hear a artist as great as she is.

Yes, it's called “phrasing”, specifically, “jazz phrasing”. You wouldn't realize it if you weren’t familiar with the writer of the song, “Crazy”, Willie Nelsen. Willie is a fan of Texas Swing, which might be considered country jazz. Patsy Cline knew how to sing it beautifully, also. 31:38

Angelina's ability to sing every note with a wide range of vocal techniques makes her so unique and wonderful to listen to. Her ability to extend notes, I believe the musical term is legato, makes her sound so good acapella or with just a guitar or piano accompaniment. Thank you Alan, Pontus, and Debbie for this fascinating podcast. Debbie mentioned Angelina’s response to what the Song Gloomy Sunday is about. Her answer was “Sad Sunday”. Many people commented on different channels that because of her young age, she didn’t understand the dark meaning of the lyrics. I think otherwise. Angelina did her homework and researched the origins of the song. The original lyrics were titled “The World is Ending”. When poet Laszlo Javor wrote the new lyrics he titled them “Sand Sunday” which later was interpreted as “Gloomy Sunday” This goes along with what many people comment that she was born with her talent maybe not realizing Angelina’s dedication to her craft and the countless hours she spend practicing. Thanks Debbie and keep reacting to Angelina. Also thank you Alan and Pontus for all your hard work and keep up the good work.

Thank you for this episode. I so enjoyed the three of you sharing the same and different aspects of Angelina’s singing and how it affects you. Other things that impress me are her breath control, her phrasing and intentional timing. She doesn’t rush and emphasizes each important emotion that the song was intended to deliver. If you listen to the same song more than once you’ll pick up something different each time.

Guys, 1 hour and 16 seconds literally flew by and Debbie was spectacular, wasn't she? You broke her out of her 'planned' approach listening to Angelina chronologically but I think in the long run she will be glad she saw these samples of what lies ahead. When she saw the still shot of Angelina at 16 years old getting ready to sing 'Crazy' on tik tok I thought she might faint. I mean, come on, how beautiful does she look. We all gradually came to that moment. Poor Debbie went from seeing a cute little girl to a young woman gorgeous beyond words. Great Podcast, as usual. I know you are considering making an LP album consisting of all your Podcasts (I have no clue! 🙂) but I did a little thinking and how close am I when I've calculated you have about 20-25 hours of material on the deck?

Debbie is completely captivating. This episode is certainly one of the best. It was quite a thrill to see you guide her leaping through the years to these exquisite song choices, guys. The Elvis song was the perfect zenith to end with. (Great work bringing us all together Angelina!)

The more I watch reactions and read comments the better I feel about myself being an Angelina fan. 48 yrs old combat vet and I can honestly say she is helping me heal. She reaches your heart in a way only she can.

Great interview, I’ve been enjoying her reactions so much. One thing I’ve noticed about almost 100% of reactors is the way almost all of them change the way they do things after a they review a few of AJ’s videos. It’s truly remarkable and almost always a drastic change. The biggest changes are the reactors that are obviously just putting on a show or cursing a in their videos. It’s like it changes them from the inside and makes them calmer and more aware of what they say and the acting and over the top sales pitches seem to slowly go away. I believe her music has a profound impact on one’s internal self. It calms your core and just feels good and I believe this shows in how drastic some of the changes are with so many reactors. It’s truly amazing to see all the transformations of so many, reaffirms the power of this absolutely heaven sent singer and the one we all love so much Angelina Jordan. She is truly one of a kind.

Thanks to two young and intelligent twin reactors by the names of Jared & Jordan, I have found the word to talk about this transformative effect that we all have been experiencing. "Duende" has been defined as the spirit of evocation, "a state of tragedy-inspired ecstasy," "a poetic emotion which is uncontrolled.", It comes from inside as a physical/emotional response to art. It is what gives you chills, makes you smile or cry as a bodily reaction to an artistic performance that is particularly expressive. My AJ path has only been three weeks, however, that has been a PHD in the study of this human that has chosen to share herself with us. Also, a transformative emotive study of myself. I have been able to grieve, fully, my best friend's passing. I've regained my capacity to be moved by the awe of the beauty, that have I heard and seen, everyday for three weeks. Tears that washed away the granite that surrounded a cynicial heart. Below is just one example of the exporation that I have undertaken, have 100 more. I want to thank Alan, Pontus and Debbie for a very fun episode of Wrapped in a Warm Blanket. It was fun watching Alan and Pontus react to Debbie’s reactions of Angelina singing I always watch Alan’s and Pontus’ reactions to Angelina, but I don’t always comment. It’s because I simply never disagree with their reactions and comments. I will admit that I have shared tears with Pontus’ emotional reactions because we have the same overwhelming emotional experience. Based on my observations, Alan is more of the cerebral and analytical type, yet his passion for all things Angelina is front and center. Our love for Angelina is the common denominator that binds us “angels” together. To Debbie, I must say that after watching your first reaction to Angelina singing, “I Put a Spell On You” I subscribed to your channel. Your reaction was so sincere and fun to watch that you became one of my favorite Angelina reactors. I’ll be there for all of your future reactions. Much love appreciation and respect to each of you.

OMG Deb, the people in your life are so "flippin" lucky to have you. You are a gem. This was great. I watched every minute. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one completely infatuated with Angelina. She gets at least two hours of my day. I have probably watched " I put a spell on you " 1000 times. It's the greatest thing I've ever seen. I can play it in my head from start to finish. That will always be my favorite. Other than that.... I dunno. There's so many. When she turned 16 she hit hyperdrive. You only heard one of her TikToks. Her voice is a force of nature now. It is not humanly possible to sing better than her. I, for one, can't wait to see Debbie react to two more of my favorite Angelina covers, "Lovin' You" and "Something's Got a Hold on Me". Both of these have a blues influence and particularly "Something's ..." has a gospel influence which Angelina performs like she was born into the gospel culture.

Wonderful Debbie! I enjoyed that very much! I've also been struggling with the "layers" or "facets" that you need to go through, before getting to the next. I'm so blown away by a particular sound or passage, that I don't hear the rest until I "recover". I keep listening, eyes open, eyes closed, concentrate. The better I listen, the more I hear, it's so fascinating. Did Angelina really put all these "layers" in there on purpose or is it just the way she does naturally. She's a mystery, so captivating, I keep listening. This has never happened to me with any other singer. A big thank you to Alan and Pontus! Well done!
