I'm about a 276 on my bigger foot and I couldn't even get the skate on with the stock liner. Actually I couldn't even get the liner on that foot by itself, too small across the midfoot due to the half-tongue design. With my broken-in Intuition V2's I can get them on just fine, but I am still a little more crammed lengthwise than I'd like. Still gotta try the extra shock pad and heatmolding but I think Omn'eed a different skate 😔
The liners are extremely narrow and I have a normal width foot. I stretched them as far as I could but they unfortunately will not work for me. Bringing back the Remz 6th toe feeling. I think it's more to where the stitching for the neoprene toe stops which prevents the liner from getting wider. Hopefully something they fix on future runs. Stock liner should fit a normal width foot.
I was able to get my 265-8ish mondo feet into the 271 small shell with double shock absorbers and 7/7.5 intuition premiums. I tried putting faction 7.5 liners in and the extra padding caused immediate toe pain putting them on. I also don’t like the bungee, the ones on my factions broke cause I like to make my liners tight like you. I’m glad they went with the replaceable buckle. When I fall I have a bad habit of sliding on my skates so the buckle gets scraped up and worn down. Can’t wait to see a follow up! 👍
Ya seems like for these, it will require thinner liners for fit versus most stock liners. Glad you were able to get these to work. I am making some changes and will see how it goes.
Many newer skates come with super long laces so you can actually take off whatever the liners have and run the laces from the boot into the liner and have one fixed fitment for the entire skate similar to how FR sets up their skates. I've never understood the obsession with so many laces and different laces on one skate But I understand to each of their own. Those look cool and another well done video 🤘
The stock Standard laces are only long enough for the shell eyelets and are not long enough to integrate with the liner if you want to remove the bungee. I really like the way that FR does their integrated shell and liner lacing. I agree, 1 lace, integrate the shell and liner, and that is the best at reducing heel lift.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found these pretty uncomfortable. Both of my ankles as well as my shins at the top of the cuff hurt quite lot. I went through their process of molding the shell in the oven twice now and while it's helped some i don't think I'm going to be able to keep skating these. I wish at least one of the early reviews i watched on the skates had mentioned this. Thanks for your honesty! 🙌
I put in the Blank liner and relieved the top cuff pressure and food width pressure I had with stock liner. I heat molded the shell last night and will see if that helps. I didn’t know I would have to jump through so much trouble to make a skate work.
I got some bad pressure on my ankle too. I bent the cuff flaps inwards so they don't go as straight out and hold my ankle/leg in more of circular shape. Got rid of all those problems! Maybe try if you're willing! Great stuff man, keep goin
Sure thing! I basically just took the liner out, and bent the right cuff flap until it more naturally wrapped around my ankle. Then I did the same with the left flap. This took away the ankle pressure that seemed to be coming from the way the cuff flaps were pinching together as opposed to now more nicely going over one another. I hope that made sense. I got the idea because law mentioned the skates hurting peoples ankles because the cuffs weren’t folding in on each other correctly. He put the cardboard tubes and plastic tubes in to try and fix that. But for my shells personally the original problem was still there. Now after bending them when I put the buckle on the sides of the cuff no longer crush in. But instead the front flaps nicely fold in on one another
Great analysis so far. I might consider going for the large Omni the more I learn about them. I am a 278mm mondo and I tried the medium US 8-9 Omni on briefly and I can confirm I felt the same as far as sizing goes. It's not entirely the internal volume so much as the length is the issue. Definitely a smaller US 8-9 shell that feels a lot like the USD Sway US 8-9. I think I like Razors so much because of their much roomier US 8-9 which feels more like a US 9-10.
Ricardo Lino is around a 275mm and during his Winterclash video he tried on the Medium shell with MyFit 2nd Skins and said it was like a perfect fit. You being at 278mm might put you a little beyond being able to do that though.
@@tomconway6808Yeah that is what I am thinking as well. I tried my Intuition liners Medium V2, 9-9.5 Premium, Myfit Prime liners 9-10, Reign V3 9.5 and with all of them it didn't really make a difference. The shell was just coming up short for me. Good to know since I think I am done trying to downsize skates for the most part.
I think 278 would be too much. I have the Blank liners and the fit is better, but there is not much room length wise to go bigger unless you build up the heel pads, which could be awkward with the lower cuff.
I'm a 27.6 on my bigger foot and in the mediums. From what I heard stock liner in medium really maxes out around 27.0. Intuition can buy you back .5ish though. I have tried them on with the following intuition liners: 9/9.5 Them Ridder, 9/9.5 Wizard, 9/9.5 Premium, 9/9.5 Bacement. I'm rocking the white pad with an orange dead heel pad on top. No Intuition heel pad. Overall I think the premium is the best with the bacement in a close 2nd. Oddly the wizard liners were almost a little sloppy in the shell. Ridder could work too but were just a hair tighter. Going to hopefully get my first skate in tomorrow. Going to bring the premium and bacement liners to test. Anyway, throw some intuition in there and see how it goes.
I could fit my 275 lengthwise in there no issues. Issue with the stock liner is that it is too narrow for a standard width foot. I mainly wanted to skate these stock and provide feet back of what the stock experience was like before making changes.
Mine fit well, but I’m at the top of large size 185 plus a little extra, it though getting extra large would be too big so I’m trying to break in the liners for the large, but it hurts to skate on my toes. (Side note I’ve skated shadows for years now, so been a while since I was in a boot.
I did that last night. Looking at the rivet, they do not protrude any further than a typical cuff bolt. I think it's due to the shape of the shell where it is putting pressure on the ankle area. I head molded the shell last night so will skate them today.
Ya not sure why the shell ended up so stiff. Maybe it was because they wanted to be an aggressive/big wheel mix. I personally thing shells should be flexier for aggressive.
275 (edited from a typo where i said 175) mondo is a foot sizing. basically the millimeters for foot length. A lot of skate manufacturer's use mondo or CM to measure skate sizes.
