I bought this case recently as well.... had a lian li sp850 but the coil whine and buzzing was driving me crazy, maybe I got a bad one? Im planning to remove it and install a cosair SF750 soon... hopefully this issue goes away as I heard its a much quieter PSU....
its kinda sad that the chassis fan placement is at the bottom, so it have to fight against natural convection, it would be so much better if it was on top, so it would also not interfere with PSU cables :)
Yes, I agree. But upon shower thoughts, maybe the case designer didn't want to add volume as I see this competing with PCCOOLER's I100 Pro Mesh. If the fan mounts are on the top, it has to increase the volume slightly just to give allowance to the riser to prevent collision; likely having the same height as S400 -- having a total of 8.6L. Not much but as compared to I100 Pro, it's 1L difference. Some ITX builders are so conscious on that 1L difference (met a few with those mindset), and maybe they decided to just create a separate S400 case for people like me (or maybe you as well) who measures cases based on cooling performance. Take this with a grain of salt though as these are just shower thoughts speculation to the case. Again, I agree, but maybe there's a design reason behind it.
they could have just flipped it upside down, this way the fan would remain on top, but this will require some additional fixation for the GPU (so it wont slide out of the riser) i really want a sub 10l case, but i want it to remain also cool and quiet so far my best bet remain S400, i also like the way SGPC K49pro/K55pro looks, it has a place for 2x 140mm fans on top of the chassis, while remaining resonably affordable case, its just i cant find it in stock anywhere, even on sgpc's taobao store :c loving your vids mate, ppl usually just film the assembling part and do not bother to run some benches to check the temps, also rarely vocal the cooler compability@@manongunboxing
I ended up using some fan control software to raise the GPU and CPU fan speeds a bit, dropped temps around 10 degrees C. Even with a bottom 120x15 fan on exhaust, there is still warm air coming out the top.
@@andrwxu Yes, I have both of my bottom fans as exhaust and they are discharging warm air. I think of it as cool air in both sides and hot air out the top and bottom.
I found a nice 8010 fan for this… it’s called the ID-COOLING NO-8010-PWM 80CM…. However just like you, I have all the cables tied up on the left side of the case so I’m not sure how would you be able to squeeze another fan in there. Would be great if you could do a video demonstrating this. I’m from Singapore and I love your channel btw
@@manongunboxing thanks for your reply! I find cpu temps can be an issue with this case so I undervolted my ryzen 7500F with a negative offset of 0.0800V and the temps are much more manageable. Ran tests on prime 95 for 2 hours+ without any issues with this config. Your videos were an invaluable source of reference when I built my own S300. Keep it up!
Hi, no, 65 is too tall, up to 60mm max only. I tested 62mm and it has a bulge already. For 65mm, I don’t think you can close the case at all. Thanks for watching 🙂
would rtx rog fit the case from the previous video of s400?( i have 3070 rog and i don't know if i should get S300 or 400 the smaller is better for me because i travel a lot) thanks for the review
hi, I think I replied to you in a different thread. But if you're here, look at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8czJNrtBM6c.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8czJNrtBM6c.html
Thank you so much for this video, brother! Very straightforward and clear. I wanted to make an itx build using this case. This will my first pc ever, i never use or build before . So i became scared right after i ordered. Your informative video makes me feel better and I can know what to do expect. Especially the cooler height issue. Keep it up! On shopee the case seller description say the max cpu + cooler height was 60mm. Did you manage to find what fans fit properly? Im planning Thermalright or Id-cooling.
Yes, max is 60mm but managed to fit in 62mm with minor struggle in closing of the side panels. One thing that I sometimes do is to try out out-of-spec components to the case (if I have stock). Some case manufacturers under promise while some over promise instead. Re: fan - if this is fan on the cooler, then no, this is the slimmest 120mm fan so I will be unlikely to find one that will fit the 60mm clearance. Sadly, I have no better cooler that can fit, but if your motherboard has low i/o shroud, I’d say go with ID-Cooling IS55. If you mean bottom 80mm slim fan, the only reliable one that I found is from id-cooling. They call it NO-8010-PWM. Available in some chinese sellers. Hope I answered your query.
I’m not confident that you can fit even a 120mm aio for a few reasons: 1. Unlike in S400, it’s not listed in the diagrams that you can. Likely you have no mounts for it as well 2. In the GPU side of the case: you can fit a 2.2 slot gpu, roughly 44mm width. It will be pushing to the limits to fit a slim fan and a rad 3. Tube routing will be a big challenge - you can only fit a slim fan at the bottom of the case… meaning you have less clearance than what you might expect My personal suggestion if you want AIO, go for slightly bigger S400
For me, no. For sff cases, the rule of thumb for me is to maximize the cooler height (60mm in this case). I would even dare go beyond the spec, that’s why I installed a 62mm cooler. If a slight bulge is an issue to you, try is-55 if it is compatible with your motherboard Stepping back, if your CPU is not that hot, axp90-x47 would do.
hi, I'm sorry for the late reply as I didn't have access to the riser at the time. Looking at it again, there is no brand. I just bought this from a seller in Lazada Philippines called Middle 999. He sells the PCCOOLER i100 cases, and there is an option to buy the riser only. If you are into brands, ADT-Link is quite popular. In context on how popular ADT-Link is, SFF Time resells it.
Pwede magtanong ? Ano po ang pwedeng marecommend mo sakin na itx case na mababa yung init ng cpu and gpu then less weird noise, nagbabalak po kasi akong magbuild ng ganyan.
Use a better CPU for the S300 like 7500f or 7800x3d to lower the temperatures, and also use the CPU cooler Noctua NH-L12S and you will have good temperatures.
Re: CPU, at the time of posting, it is a standard for me to use 5800X. The cases compared to this used the same processor, mobo, and gpu but may have different fan configs to the cases’ favor. While it may be true that 7800x3d is cooler, at the time it wasn’t an option specially for comparison purposes. 7500f is out of the question, at this point, I will no longer test a non-r7/i7 class cpu. Also, Noctua l12s won’t fit in this case… the case barely fit a 62mm cooler doubt it can go taller.
Re: speaking slower -- I'll try again. I did this before and I fell asleep to my own vids. Anyway, I'll try to find the right balance. re: free time, I dedicate it to my family as of the moment. Currently balancing: day job, youtube, and family. But thanks for your suggestions!
Woot, the FSP Dagger. Thats such a nasty thing .. the cables are total garbage, even cheap run-o-the-mill dime a dozen PSUs come with better cables. The PSU itself is decent and doesnt seem to have issues like the ones by Cooler Master or Lian Li with their ever annoying noisy jumpy fan curves, but the cables *shakes head*.. such a nasty disaster.
Hi, I appreciate the engagement, but it sounds like you might be coming from a place of privilege. Not everyone has the same budget for their builds, and I self-fund all my projects from my salary. I hope everyone can afford anything they want, just like you.
@@manongunboxing Hey it's not like im picking on you for no reason, the content is good, but it's just too difficult to understand what you're saying at times, and lets be honest with ourselves, you do have a uniquely heavy and distorted accent
Well, that’s why I put subs as much as I can. Comments on accent can’t really help this channel in any way as I won’t be able to fix that in short or long term. I came from a mixed background, and I can’t do anything about it. I can’t fix that without spending tons of time which I don’t have. The best option for you is to really just ban this channel.
His accent is easy to understand, and if you can't understand it that sounds like a problem on your end, as a solution I reccomend you talk to people from outside your local bubble or turning on subtitles cause they are perfect on his channel
