Hazel ☘️ … You are looking real dapper Jasper ! Hmmmm high prices indeed , not looking forward to buying one there …. Love Carina tho … and great price ! 🙏☘️😘
Jasper I read on another site that just this week the Supreme Court struck down the import tax from other EU countries and for those who paid it it’s possible to apply to get the tax back. Check it out…
You clean up real nice Jasper, you remind me of a muscian in my country His name is David Kramer with your suspenders 😂😂😂 all good reliable Portuguese cars should be called Efigenia😂😂😂
Do the back seats fold down? Our older sedan type car had that feature which was quite handy for hauling .by the way, our mini van transmission took a month to deal with and several hundred dollars, should have just bought another car but I was not willing at the time.
Second-hand cars are cheap, indeed, in Holland, b/c they become obsolete after just a few years. Of course Vanessa is becoming expensive after several trips back & forth to Holland without proper maintenance perhaps? She served you well, Jasper, and seems like a good car for hauling (better than the new old Mazda). Otherwise, an old sturdy truck might work well.
Jasper, Mazda is a reliable car manufacturer. But I will not trust any maintenance sticker. The minimum expected driving KM per year is 15000 x 28 years your car is driven 420000 KM unless it was parked for many years. If you cannot find the water leak source drill a small hole in the spare tire compartment.
Nice ride! I'll sure be looking out for you. I have heard all kinds of horror stories of people trying to import their car. I own a very nice van that I really love. We'll see how it turns out. Have you imported your van yet?
Given the amount of work you're planning to do on your property .. you may have rather looked for a "bakkie" .. makes it easier to move rubble around etc.
It's the same in Hungary, secondhand cars are much more expensive than in the Netherlands, usually don't have a service history so the amount of km driven is questionable... Despite the costs of importing a car it's usually cheaper and more reliable.
That was a good choice, this is a reasonable car, even a bit overpriced for the Netherlands. For me the obvious choice would be a Renault 4. Still no problem to get spare-parts, I know that car quite well, and it is a very practical car if you need to carry stuff from a DIY-store home:) You don't see the bigger R4F6 in Portugal very often, but such a model could amost replace Vanessa.
In Australia we have huge taxes on vehicles so the prices you are quoting are not uncommon here. And yes Mazda is a good brand, Honda and Toyota too. Service costs are higher for Honda than the other two, so it sounds like you have bought a good one👏👏whir cars are called Pearl😂
If you need something just to take you from A to B, something cheap like you got, it will be perfectly fine. Avoid German cars from 90s and 00's like the plague, that Audi i bet has done more km than 747 from Lufthansa. As for import a car, it can be worth, depending on the car. Depending on age, it might be really worth the cost. For an example, the car i bought is worth double or even a bit more in here, and even if i paid the full taxes for registration, I will still be on top if i would decide to sell it. So, if you are fishing around for something and you see that its too expensive in here, it might be worth to import from another country. A few tid bits, if you are importing a car from another EU country, make sure the first license plate was issued in a EU country. This will guarantee that the vehicle pays taxes according to its age, which can be something little or massive. Anything outside EU, and the annual tax will be equivalent to a new car, even if it is a classic, with some exceptions for special categories. Annual taxes for cars until June 2007 are dependent on engine capacity and if it's a gasoline or diesel engine. From July of 2007 and forward, they are still dependent on capacity but also CO2 emissions, and they've become a lot more heavy on the wallet. EVs, on the other hand, are for the time being, exempt from registration and annual tax, so it might be worth investing in one if life circumstances fit the usage of one.
Why not buy a car in Holland then drive it in? I don't get it... How expensive would that be and what taxes? I need a car in Portugal, but I would rather buy one in eastern Europe and tractor and drive it in.
