Omg this got me all emotional 🥺 but I’m still smiling as I watch. Guys we walked these halls, sat in those chairs in the auditorium. Our fingerprints and memories are forever embedded in this building. I miss it so much. G-town class of 07
@@raymondcarter8915 I went from 05 to 09 yes he told a student boy to give up his phone because he wouldn't stay off it, student got mad & hit teacher he was layed out on floor. After school some students that liked the teacher found one of the boy friends & pistol wiped him outside the school it was sad but I didn't stay long because anybody could of got shot smh
It was never Georgetown..lol. We would say G-town. It was a 4 year school since the 60's. My 3 Sister's..1 Brother and myself attended. Great memories. Was always tales of haunting..as from what I heard..there were Alot of gangwar activity and violence there. But we still went there and I know my family did well. Thanks for this post
Its "GERMANTOWN" not George. It's the oldest 1690 colonial city- suburb South of New England.the native Americans lived here in great population at Wissahickon Park nearby. It's a very historic town
I think it was a cross of I was going to hide the name to protect the site and last of sleep. If I had a way to go back and just alter the audio I would.
Crazy seeing this video! I went here from 97-2001. And he was right, they closed the 4th floor off before I got there. We use to sneak up there and chill.
I went to school here it was very upsetting when they closed down because we all got separated and sent to different schools just for them to leave the building to rot
I think I went here a couple years ago. The auditorium looks very similar. But what I loved the most about the school was a on the roof it had a gym with it fenced in all around.
Wow i would have never thought my old school would close down. There was a kid who they say committed suicide in the auditorium but we all believed that someone killed him.
Someone definitely killed that boy. His shoe was missing! I remember he was snapping and trying to fight us. U can just tell he was going through something . He was scared probably. People said it looked like he was in a fight and his shoe came off. Some ppl just say he committed suicide
@@KenopsiaExplorers They kept it under raps i don’t even remember if it was on the news. I only remember it being in the paper and I’m not even sure if it was the Philly inquire it might have only been in the neighborhood paper.
So sad. I graduated from King in 1979. This was our fierce rivalry. But, we had lots of friends there! BTW it’s a little unfortunate that it is being called Georgetown. You know how particular Philadelphians are. 😊🤣 THANK YOU FOR DOUNG THIS!
Just was thinking of the school & said let me look up if someone been in there why abandoned long behold I come across this. I was a cheerleader I loved this school smh cried the whole video class of 09
@@KenopsiaExplorers awh thx 4 the reply don't get me wrong I'm so grateful for this. U don't no how many years I thought of going inside there & doing what you did but probably wouldn't do it if someone paid me lol it was a dream u made come true. I just truly miss being a a young adult I'm 31 now with 5 children & things just not the same as it was when we was younger
@@ieshiab6295 amen to that! We’ve often thought about shooting follow up videos with people that used to be in the buildings when they were in use. We will keep you in mind.
Graduated class of 92’ 😞sad this and Ada H H Lewis closed. The library looked so barren wonder where all the tables and chairs went? Small group of us got to eat lunch in there sometimes bc the cafeteria was just too much! Seeing the gym and auditorium brought back memories. I remember when the rapper Kwame came and performed “Only You”. He exited the stage walked past the crowd sandwiched in between the two biggest and tallest bodyguards I ever seen in my life😄
Back in the day I stayed in a house that had been converted into five apartments on a small double unit street with an abandoned Civil War era factory across the street which was a rat hotel which had rats running into neighbors' houses across the street. It took hell and high water for 10 businesspersons to come up from Florida to look at it and to have it torn down when they would have rather been in Florida handling other real estate which they were slumlords of. Germantown High School better get up off of it.😮
@@KenopsiaExplorers You’re welcome!!! Thank you, for showing us what it looks like inside. I ride by there anytime I’m uptown. I heard they were turning the school into an apartment building like they did West Philly High. It would be nice to remodel the school to a new school, for the kids in the neighborhood.
Charli D'Amelio: Germantown on Jim Henson/The Muppets Middle School and Seth Thomas High School on 2034? Eden McCoy: Jim Henson/The Muppets Middle School and Seth Thomas High School, I'm gonna straight up and fix this in the cable, restroom, gym, teacher, OK, now to get starring!
My sister graduated Germantown High School back in the day. We had a second cousin who taught English here. I graduated Central High School years later when that same cousin taught English at Central High School. I had a history teacher who told me that he could not teach at that BLACK Benjamin Franklin High School. He asked me why I wanted to be at Central High School rather than Germantown High School where there were more BLACK people there.😮
Just left there went in at night time I swear Its haunted I just heard a bang right infront of me n my friends and heard alot of other paranormal things it was freaky lol
A student died there years before it’s closing but it’s true. They closed the 4th floor due to the person hanging themselves from the story I heard when I attended
Yeah I went to Gtown, class of 2011, in 2006 a student was found hung In the Auditorium come to find out later someone beat him up really bad and then made it look like a suicide by hanging him. Sad
@@KenopsiaExplorers I worked for the School District of Philadelphia for 30 years…got to work on the roof ..attics and basements of these schools ..seen a lot of old stuff ..for instance students did graffiti in the teens or twenties but with pencil ..they wrote their names and the date but a hundred years later you could clearly see it …pencil doesn’t fade …I found old student writings at G town …there used to be a historical marker on the front lawn commemorating the battle of Germantown during the Revolutionary War ..one day I drove by and it was gone …someone from the city may have taken it
