The mechanic says he doesn't want to spend money on a diagnostic scanner software if he is going to see only one engine every month. I thought he said that these engines are problematic so I would think that will be a lot more than one in the shop every month. These engines have problems with the EGR so people are deleting the EGR and the problem is gone.
International epa 2010 engines usually have better mpg when they're on the road than Cummins or Detroit but the maxforce epa 2010 will be in the shop all of the time due to failed egrs, egr coolers at least once or twice a year, cloged dpf evey 6 months, turbo seals, failed injectors 1 or 2 every 9 months runing crappy bio fuel CA has everywhere, injector harness, cracked exhaust manifolds regularly, sensors and engine harness issues all the time. We've "had" 3 that would visit the shop about every 60 - 90 days give or take a few, thank god for the extended warranty. We ended up in a law suit with international over the maxforce settled with all out of pocket expenses for repairs returned and a buyback and a stupid hot deal on new Cummins ISX installed prostars. International is a reliable comfortable truck with the Cummins installed. But we buy Freightliner with Cummins X15 installed just for simplicity, but the DD15 pulling power is hard to ignore.
I have one and currently still driving it. Got it around 560k miles and currently at 730k. Guess I'm just blessed that other than replacing the clutch fan, the actual engine has not needed any work. The fuel pump has some type of error, but It just keeps going. Also the EGR cooler has an issue, and every now and then it will smoke like a train. At this point I am ready to move on, but with the low resale value, I figure I may as well drive it till it stops.
Francisco we bought a new 2022 LT with the A26. We have 43000 miles on it, I know we stepped out of the norm getting that engine. We love it, I could keep you informed about how it performs. Thanks
Your Engine is a derivate of a great MAN engine. The D26. Very popular in Europe and south America. In China I think is also used by Sinotruck as well.
Keep us posted of your fuel economy, MAN is a great engine. They are part of the Second biggest truck maker in the world, including Navistar, called Traton. 👍

International both the chassis and engines just fall short. Hand to God I've heard a rep for Rush truck center (International) tell my customer 2012 malformed truck- I'm allowed to misdiagnose your truck , make you pay for the incorrect repairs then tell you to never come back.

mad mine since 2014 brand new havent have 1 issue somehow....i think the fuel pump is starting to go out though but its deleted too lol got it on a very very good deal you wouldnt believe ...so anyway ive made my money 30x with this truck so im good it can blow up now so i can swap it with a cat or something....btw its tuned to 500 and its a beat believe it or not ill beat the hell out of a detroit no
I can just say that If you are considering a Volvo. Turn around fast. Between the Taxxforce and the Volvo. They are both POS rigs. But Volvo is way worse since nobody will work on them. So if you break down in the middle of BFN. Nobody will even be able to touch the truck at a mom n pop. At least with the International Taxxforce you can still have a mechanic that will do some work.

The question then becomes does the expense saved on DEF and DEF components make up or even exceed the expense for work done on this engine type? Also, does this technology allow for greater or lessor fuel savings?

What engine can u swap with the 6.4 max force? I got a really nice low mile truck that I want to put a new engine in, because the bed on the truck is worth more than what I paid for it
