In this week’s video, we give away an amazing PGS composite goalie stick, rotation straps and toe ties. I also get future OHL Star goalie, Ben Kraft out to work on side net, cross corner and rim dumps. We clearly explain the rules on the “no touch zone” so when you play at those levels using the restricted puckhandling zone, you will already be prepared on how to manage this area.
You want a chance to win some cool gear tune in tomorrow!

Hi,Coach!Andrea Bosco is here,I have been at your clinics at Palm Beach Skate Zone few years ago, your stories inspired me,so I study very hard.When I have just started being goalie,now I am in travel team for the second year in a row,moving to 12U next season.My mom got me Reebok pads,but those pads have laces, she made toe straps out of old bungee cord and used Velcro piece)New toe straps would be great.❤Sending you big high five and is a shame you are not coming anymore.

PGS is getting the elbows up when competing for the lightest stick on the market. I wonder if they added one gram to avoid invoking Satan, but 667g invokes Steve's inner Santa. Haven't tried the PGS toe ties, but I am a MASSIVE fan of the PGS rotation (aka "professor") straps. They utterly transformed how my pads sit on my legs and made the rotation super consistent.

Hey Coach, i noticed that the toe ties weren't tied off about an 1" or 2 from where the attach to the pads. I do this with my bungie ties as i did by adding 1/2 dozen knots to the hockey laces when i used those. I guess my question is should I be doing that or are the bungies made so I don't need to? PS great videos. Appreciate your time doing these.

Good video Steve, I was hoping to see some hard dump ins these are always a challenge to stop which I find requires me to use my body to stop it then pass it out. What is your take on elastic toe ties steve? I find so many people swear against them because it ruins post transitions in RVH.
@FutureProGoaltending
@FutureProGoaltending 8 месяцев назад
I think it is 100% personal preference related to amount of leash and how much tensile stretch a goalie likes. Whether it is stretch free like a lace or super movement with loose elastic. Trial and error would be best route to go
@1337r33t
@1337r33t 8 месяцев назад
At 667 grams that makes for a lot easier blocker saves when your arm doesnt feel like its holding a rock. Like to see someone try and score back door when youre lugging one of these. The toe ties as well look pretty high quality. Can't go wrong either way it looks like with pgs.
@mihaU1
@mihaU1 8 месяцев назад
I'm always jealous looking at these all toe ties you guys are using in Canada and USA. In Poland where I live, pro goalies still stick to the ordinary laces and probably never heard of bungee ties. They're impossible to get in here. Wish I could try them one day!

A 667 gram (1.47 pounds) would be a huge upgrade over the 5 pound (Exaggeration I have never weighed it although the suspension in my truck drops a couple of inches when I load it back there) all wood Bauer that I am using now. If you are taking video suggestions a video on "the scramble" would be greatly appreciated. As an older beer league goalie I'm fine with the first shot but when it pops out 5 feet from me I start swimming, I am unsure do I supposed to push forward into the sea of legs to take the angle do retreat to the blue line. Also my "Swimming" is more like drowning, I don't move well. Would like to see some mobility drills as well as a video on skate dynamics. Most modern skates look like player skates and I am still using a older cowled skate that actively prevents my toe from digging in which I believe is limiting my movement. I see videos on push slides and they always make it look easy but I struggle with them, my right skate never seems to be able to get the grip. Is it normal to be able to push better one way over the other (I know in player skates I still cross over left better than right)?
