You never disappoint. Your videos are so hilarious and at the same time knowledgeable. Thanks, my dude! Oh and thank you for the mopping comparison now I know which one to choose! You are the best! 😁😁😁😁🤔🤔
The Robot Master has done it again folks! The only place on RU-vid to get these types of Robot reviews! I already know which one I like the best! The BobShark 2!
Thanks for the review I just ordered T8 from Amazon Good to see that there was a tough competition and T8 has the edge over the accessories that’s expected to be launched
I searched Ecovacs and Roborock website and found that the suction power of Roborock S6 MaxV is 2500pa while T8 is 1500 pa. Does this make big difference when they are doing cleaning work?
So the T8 does have lower Pa than the S6 MaxV but has a higher airflow around 24 CFM VS about 17 CFM on the S6 MaxV. I usually take the CFM and Pa with a grain of salt because there other factors that determine how well the robot can effectively pick up dirt and debris. Those are the navigation, how low the extractor bar sits, extractor bar type and design, side brush, lastly how quickly the robot travels. From what I tested both robots did really well in my pickup challenge, the S6 MaxV beating out the T8 slightly. Both robots are good, and offer the best performance and features to date.
@@yvonnelimref Hmmm that tough one, I think the T8 does better because of the dual side brushes and they don't stall if they detect resistance like on the S6 MaxV
The S6 MaxV has the better navigation with the ability to recognize objects. If you have a lot dirt and debris, or pet hair I would go with the S9, and the slef emptying bin system the best in the Business. It reall depends on what you are looking for, your floor plan and lifestyle.
@@RobotMasters I have a large house, with 3 floor. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. no carpets, all wood floors. My smaller dog has accidents which is why I thought of the MaxV... but I do have a large surface as well with pets so I am torn. I have ordered both the braava m6 and the s9Plus... but I am really having second thoughts on the s9Plus. Both bots arrive this week but not sure if I should send the S9 back. I have also seen negative reviews on the s9 and how confused the robot sometimes gets. I thought the s6 did a really good nav job... so still stuck
JP The poop avoidance is a nice backup, but I wouldn’t fully trust it. Kinda like self driving cars, their auto pilot systems are for emergency situations. The S9 and m6 are a really good cleaning duo. I would give them a shot to see how you like it.
So the Vibrating mopping pad is only available in certain countries and have not had a chance to personally review the accessory. Once I get my hands on you I will do a comprehensive review.
Hi, I love your channel. I was considering buying T8 Aivi, however, now I'm not so sure any more. There are quite a few bad reviews online about it's navigation issues and having to re-map the house multiple times a week and month. Apparently it gets easily confused and skips areas and rooms or cleans in no go zones. I can see that many people have returned it for that reason. Did you have any similar issues? Any help is greatly appreciated. Would you recommend s6 MaxV over T8?
I got the Ecovacs T8 based on your previous reviews. It's been a few days and frustrating software on Android. Are you iOS or android? How many "floors" will the T8 do? I have a sunken living room and apparently that counts as another floor. Right now I can't get it to map my 2nd floor. Run it 3 times and the map won't save. The software on roborocks looks so much better. Using this for mostly mopping, and considering the S6 MaxV over this. Did you find emptying the bin on the T8 a bit annoying as it's 3 pieces? And it wants me to remove the mopping pad everytime it finishes. can you leave it in the robot?
Hello sorry you have been having so many issues with the T8. According to Ecovacs website the T8 can support upto 3 saved maps. I have used both Android and iPhone for testing and one thing to make sure is enabled is Advance mode in the vacuum settings. Once you create your first map and saved it in the map management area there a toggle you have to enable to save the map. Next you go back into Vacuum settings and select reset current map. You have to make sure there no map showing before you attempt to create a 2nd map, repeat the process for the 3rd map too. Hope this helps, you can email me at nate2003@comcast.net if you want me to send you the pictures of the settings. PS as for the bin, I just used the red tab to empty the bin, I only seperate it into the pieces if I want to clean the filters, it is tricky to keep everything together when emptying. You can leave the mopping attachment on, just note there no plastic mopping base to orevent water from soaking your floors while the robot sits to charge.
@@RobotMasters thank you! Reset map was the key!. That is not intuitive.do you think they will update it so that you can save more than three maps? I have sunken floors on two of my floors. So that's four floors, and I actually have a third floor. So I actually need five maps
I prefer the dual side brushes, able to capture the debris from both the left and right side of the robot. If I compared the two the differences is negligible.
@robotmasters....i bought an s6 maxv, its been pretty good but its obstacle avoidance is questionable. A couple times it has attempted to take out my child playing on the floor. Does the Ozmo T8 non AIVI have better people detection...particularly the small people :-) Also do you rate their pick up performance to be the same despite the differences in pascals?
The T8 does better at pickup especially on carpet. The non AIVI uses a laser system so it won’t care what the object is as long as it bigger than a golf ball. The Camera system found on the S6 MaxV uses a data base built in so it compares what it sees to what in the data base. Unfortunately only a small amount of items are in its data base and small humans not one of them. The NON AIVI might be better, but from my testing very complex environments with lots of obstacles might confuse the T8. For Now the Roborocks have the best navigation. You can look into the Shark AI, it front sensors one of the best I tested.
@@RobotMasters thank you, you are always there to answer my questions :-) Might try the T8 instead, whats are the noise levels compared to the s6? Obviously the vibrating mop attachment will be louder, but what about when thats not running?
From what I observed the Roborock does slightly better at navigating and maneuvering around obstacles. The mopping performance is about the same. Slightly better with the vibrating mopping option on the T8.
How does the T8 work on multi floors, do you need to move the base every time or once the robot has mapped the floors, you can simply move the T8 and it'll recognize where it is located?
To map initially toy do need to move the charger to the new level. Also male sreu the Map Saving is enabled. Lastly male sure the previous saved map is cleared using Map reset. Once the maps are saved, you don't need to take the charger with you, just make surr the correct map is loaded onto the robot before starting.
If I have a 2 story house and only want to buy one bot, can I unplug it and move it to the other level without any issues? I feel like the mapping system might be impacted somehow..?
Both robots the Ecovacs T8 and Roborock S6 MaxV jave the capability of saving multiple maps aka floorplans. The new update with the S6 MaxV allows the user to take the robot to a different saved floorplan and the robot can scan the environment and update the correct map automatically. No need to manually load the correct map in the app. So yes both robots jave this capability without messing up the map.
So the vibrating/oscillating Ozmo Pro component is in default in the box with Ozmo T8? Do you think it mops way better than not-moving mopping pad in S6 MaxV? Or do you think that Y-pattern mopping in Viaomi V3 can perform better?
It hard to say vs the T8 vibrating mopping pad, will test this when I get it. But the T8 Pro has the vibrating mopping pad in box, the none pro which is sold in the USA a separate purchase. The Y mopping pattern will beat out the S6 MaxV mopping system since it goes over the area multiple times.
Great video as usual. So in your opinion should I just get the deebot T8 or wait for the roborock s6 maxv. I have both carpet and hardwood floors and 2 pets. Thanks
Hmmm tough question, if you are planning on doing a lot mopping with your robot, I would go with the Ozmo T8 because if the dedicated Carpet sensor that can actively avoid your carpets when mopping. If you environment more complex and lots of objects on the ground the S6 MaxV the better choice.
Thanks, really enjoy your channel. You always seem first w new models. One question - do you think the vibrating mop is really much better than their standard mop? Did you see a difference?
Hi Nathan, could you please check if suction only insert from Deebot 950 fits the T8 as well? I see that Ecovacs removed it from the list of supplied accessories for this model. I would like to use it only for vacuuming on my hardwood floors - have a lot of hair to deal with. Thanks!
Just got the T8 and one thing that I’ve quickly noticed is that it leaves far too wide a gap from ‘obstacles’ (ie - furniture) or perceived obstacles. In the kitchen, the shadow from the light on the lower cabinets on the hardwood floors caused it to not get close to the edge, which is something my old 920 had no issue with. Did you notice the T8 is bad at edge cleaning?
One thing to note, the T5 doesn't support the upcoming Accessories if they become available. But everything else about the T5 is similar minus the camera!!!
Hello, what would be better to choice a Roborock S6 or a Roomba E5 + Brava 380? I have high pile shag carpet and laminate floor....what would work best?
The Roborock E4 just been released so it does have some features over the e35, like stronger suction, offers the user to buy the electronically controlled mopping system separately. Also the E4 has 10% more efficient navigation over the e35. The 675 is a Random navigating robot, so if you have a smaller area, the robot good for that.
Hi, there! Great video, again! I really like both, but 800 $ it's just too much. I'm considering to buy S5 Max or Ozmo 950. Now are almost the same price. I have a one floor house, with no any carpets. I don't have any pets, but 3 girls :). Which one do You recommend? Thanks!
I think if your home mainly hardwood floors, the S5 Max would be my recommended choice. More efficient at navigating around objects your 3 girls may occasionally leave on the ground 😅. Thanks for watching!!!
So out of these 2 which is the overall best? Or if I want the best what is the best? Then where do these rank with the best? My house is 90 percent wood floors.
It really depends on what features you are looking for. The S6 MaxV has the better navigation, ability to stream live video in the dark, where as the T8 has the dedicated carpet sensor to avoid mopping your carpets. Also has slightly longer battery life and higher CFM. Both robots will do fine with hardwood floors.
@@jasonbrinson20091983 It all depends on what you are looking for in a robot vacuum. If you have a small one bedroom apartment than a cheaper random navigation robot is ideal.
The pickup ability is hard to determine exactly, the Ozmo did better with powder where the Roborock did better with larger chunks of debris. They both have just about the same pickup ability from what I can tell. But if I had to choose one, the T8 does better.
Can you turn off carpet avoid in mop mode and rely just on keep out mop zones? Also, is the T8 able to turn off water flow on carpets, if the auto carpet avoidance can be / is turned off?
@@RobotMasters Thanks for your prompt response. Can't wait for your next video! Note: In Ecovacs tips and tricks it sounds like they plan to address this issue. "How good do the mopping functions on these new multi-functional robotic vacuum cleaners work? They work very well. However, at the moment, they are currently one or the other."
I just bought the S5. My cats sometimes throw up & I'm worried before I notice it there vacuum will go over it. I was wondering would it go over it or avoid it? Thank you
For now I wouldn’t fully trust it, it kind of like a backup, if you occasionally leave something on the ground. Roborock is planning on several updates, and I will keep you guys posted on what I find out!!!
@@RobotMasters Thanks for the answer, I also had a question about the S6 MaxV. Do you think that in the future Roborock will release an update to allow a "video butler/patrol" option? Also in your opinion what is the best vacuum of these two? For example, what vacuum would you recommend a family member buying? Thanks
@@B_G_W If it was me recommend to someone, probably go with the Roborock. I find the navigation better, and the App easier to use. The new update on the S5 Max and S6 MaxV allows the user to save 4 maps and the user can physical move the robot to a new saved location without the need to correctly load the map onto the robot first. The Deebot not a bad choice and may be the better choice for some users. The T8 has more features and has the possibility to add the vibrating mopping module and down the road the self emptying bin. It is possible for Roborock to add live video feed via software updates
Another funny and informative video. Very cool. Btw: what is the model name of the Bob Shark 2, the iRobot robot with the arm and chain drive (ca. 0:36) and is it available for purchase?
Hahaha thanks, Bob shark is a prop I used for some of my videos. It something I created to make my videos more entertaining. The Body is made by New Bright called the iRobot Kobra 710. It a toy grade replica if the actual robot. Than I used the Shark Ion amzn.to/3ltbdHO for the cleaning head and some fancy editing to make it work.
Hi. Terje from Norway here. I have been following your videos and have learned a lot 😀 When I saw the self emptying Irobot I really like it. Unfortunately it was/is very expensive. So I have been waiting for a cheaper one. I saw the S6 max got very nice score in tests but T8 also seems to be really good. Now its even possible to get it with the self entry bin. Unfortunately it seems It will not be sold in Norway so I have to import it. Here are my questions: Do you think it will have trouble going over about 20mm threshold? That's the height into my two bathrooms? What do you think about ordering it from China? Will it be with a Chinese version? I have an android phone. Do you think that will be a problem? I found it in Aliexpress. There it's with the self emptying bin. Terje
Well that at the maximum that ECOVACs says their robot can climb over. I would personally try it and see if the robot able to make over the threshold. The T8 does have those two accessories and I did personally order the Ozmo T8+ through Aliexpress, awaiting shipment.
From what a user told me when they contacted Ecovacs the representative said late August, but the email sounded like the representative didn’t have an exact time line.
How about a Lidar based Roomba on top of a Roborock self emptying bin??? You will have the best of both worlds 😋. Honestly I think I would go with the Lidar Based Roomba since it already has a self emptying bin that can't be beat!!!
Good question geo kokos, I've asked myself that so many times because I have an i7+, love the self-emptying bin and the cleaning performance of the dual rollers plus the nice extra features like bin-full sensor and dirt detect, but the VSLAM camera navigation really doesn't work well in some roooms in my house. I also have a Roboroch s5 Max in my holiday home so I know how much I prefer Lidar navigation. My practical answer is that I'm getting so fed up of the VSLAM navigation failures on my i7+ that I'd go with whichever comes out first but like Nathan my preference would be Roomba with Lidar navigation because of the Roomba's already great cleaning performance. Also, we already know that there are lots of third-party copies of the bags for the Roomba self-emptying bin on eBay for way less than the official iRobot ones, so running costs should be low.
@@julianfp1952thank you yes a roomba with lidar and biggest battery is a perfect robot vacuum and a self emptying bin without bags.I own a xiaomi mi robot it cleaning history is 405 hours excellent navigation awesome cleaning ability im pretty happy with it. Previously i owned a roomba s9 without the self emptying dust bin but i returned it because the navigation in my house was awful.
You are by FAR one of the BEST vacuum reviewers on RU-vid! Thank you for the great content. I thought for the longest time I want a Roborock but I just learned about Deebot. IDK which to choose!!!??? I need a mop. S5 Max is what i currently want. opinion? Ranch home mostly hard floors
LOL Thanks 😊 Yes the S5 Max is a good choice and has one of the best navigation for robot vacuums. Can’t go wrong with a Roborock. The Deebot I would choose over the T8 if you had a lot carpets and area rugs because the robot can actively avoid carpet while mopping. With the Roborock need to create no mopping zones via the App.
Thanks for the review. I have a rug in the living room that is about 1/2 the room and large tile in the other half. When the machine is in vacuum and mop mode, I want to mop and vacuum the tile floor, but only vacuum the rug. Can it do this automatically by sensing the rug and turning off the mop? Then when it goes back to the tile floor, it will do both mop and vacuum.
I bought the t8 because of your video, very informative. Could you recommend replacement mops that would work with the t8? I have the roomba mopper now and keepow replacement pads worked good - but maybe the t8 is so new there aren’t any pads available? Thx in advance !
I would see if you can order the Ozmo 950 mopping pads, they use the same mopping pads. You can also use the 960 as well, but from what I recall they are slightly larger.
Yes I made that one, the Chassis is the 710 Kobra a toy replica of the real bomb disposal robot made by iRobot. I used a Shark Duo for the Vacuum part.
I have a single level house with mostly hard floors. We have a combination of stained concrete and wood floors with some area rugs. No wall to wall carpet. The transition between the concrete and the wood is about 1/2". About 2 years ago, we bought the deebot 930 pro. It worked well for a few months but then it kept getting stuck on cords and stuff. I'd take it back to it's charging cradle then I'd loose the map. Very annoying. I unplugged it for about a year. Now I'm looking at them again. Tried to get the ozmo 930 working again but I just can't get it to save the map. I bought an irobot i7+ (actually the i8 from Costco which is the i7 with a few extra goodies and a larger capacity battery). It works reasonably well. I also want to do mopping so I just today bought the irobot braava m6. It won't go over the transitions between concrete and wood. I guess I can carry it over it but.... So now I'm reconsidering my choices. What would you recommend? I really like the convenience of the self emptying bin but if either the roborock s6 vmax or the deebot t8 aivi will navigate better, I might be able to live without the self emptying bin. Now, I do see that deebot has a new self emptying bin for the t8 but reviews in their site are poor. What do you suggest I do with regard to good sweeping/vacuuming/mopping robot for my house?
@@timothysteadham331 From what I have seen, the ecovacs can lose their maps, you can restore the original map by turning the robot off using the red power switch than placing on charger and turning the red power switch back on. The robot will relocate and update the map. This usually doesn't occur unless there a significant change in the environment or if the robot was physically moved and couldn't determine where it at.
Hmm hard to say since both have their pros and cons and offer unique features. I think personally I would go with the S6 MaxV. The mapping more reliable and more regular software updates.
@@RobotMasters fantastic! Actually, i dont need the mopping mode. Is there a version that is of equal but without mopping. Maybe i could save a couple bucks haha
@@toastysweetbrat Take a look at the Roborock S4 if you have medium to low profile carpet. Also the 360 S5 a cheaper option that just vacuums amzn.to/38qUAZO
@@andrewsimons1213 I can’t be 100% sure if they are able to remove the voice prompt completely or allow the user to turn the volume down. Maybe it a Security Requirement that Roborock has to follow, but I know the T8 doesn’t announce that it video recording just a small Red light. It possible they can update this via software and the new models would be similar.
It depends on what you are looking for. Has the most features, self emptying bin, vibrating mopping system, Mobile Security Camera and a descent cleaning performance.
I can't wait to buy the T8.. 😀😀😀 So if i i buy the t8 i will be able to add the selft empty bin in the future right? But do you think they will ever release a combo version? With all included.. Selft empty and vibrating mop
Hmmmm don't know when the Accessories will be available, nothing concrete yet, just some advertisements videos that pop up here and there. I will let you guys know when I get more info 😁
@@RobotMasters yes please thank you Nathan. Because i mean if it comes with selft empty bin now it make sense to have a liddar robot and with the mop attachment i bet it will be one of the best.. I love roborock but come on roborock no self empty base yet, i am sorry lol 😂.. Also i know i Wil have to give up the function (hey Google ask roomba to clean the kitchen).. Omg i love the feature i don't think 🤔 any other robot has that huh? 🤔Only start and stop cleaning i think., but how the ozmo t8?
LoL the Shark IQ has the room select feature via voice like Roomba. Just patiently 🤪☹️ waiting for Roborock to release a self emptying bin too 😁. If you get one before me, be sure to buy TWO so you can send it to your FAVORITE RU-vidr 😇
Thanks for another great video Nathan. A couple of questions on the T8... 1 - Time index 14:54 where you show the T8 map with the rooms labelled A, B, C, D etc. How does the T8 split the maps into rooms? Does it do it automatically and you're then stuck with what it decides are the rooms or can you adjust the room boundaries like you can on an i7 in case the automatic split-into-rooms algorithms puts room boundaries (usually door openings) in the wrong place? Or maybe there is no automatic room splitting and you set the dividers yourself like on Roborocks? 2 - Have you had any software updates for the T8 since you got it? I hear that Ecovacs are fairly good at pushing out software updates but am wondering if they've done a T8 one yet. I think you mentioned in a previous video that the T8 can corrupt its map if you move it mid-run; I'm wondering if that has been fixed yet.
So Ecovacs does a good job pushing software updates in a timely manner. So the robot will try to recognize and divide the rooms automatically. I have found I would need to update and edit my rooms myself. So as for the map corrupt, I I hasn't happened for a long time, so maybe Ecovacs addressed this issue. But if you need to restore your map, just turn the robot off via the red power switch, place on charger and turn the robot back on. The robot will automatically update the map.
I am addicted to watching your robot vacuum videos!!! I don’t know what to buy! I want to mop and vacuum my floors, all tile in a 2,100 square foot house with two kids, two dogs, and one messy hubby, lol. Not mop the whole house all the time but kitchen, dining room and hallway, maybe twice a week, and vacuum three times a week. Should I buy a robot mop, or a combo unit? Was thinking the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 or Roborock s6 maxv. Or do the Roomba s9+ and Braava jet m6. Or the Neato D8 and Braava jet m6. I’ve had two different Roombas in the past, one smeared dog feces and the other higher end died after a year, so I wanted to change brands and try another better brand. Help!
LOL first of all thank you, I am addicted to watching my videos too 😋. Anyways sounds like the Ozmo t8 is a viable option and one of the most future rich robots out there. Also has the ability to add a vibrating mopping attachment and self emptying bin too: amzn.to/2Z0ZlTF A cheaper option if you don't want the Camera is the Ozmo 950 amzn.to/3eujwj8 The last recommendation is the Roborock S6 MaxV, has the best navigation of any robot Vacuum to date amzn.to/2NlmGKl Honestly you can't go wrong with any of these models. They will Vacuum and mop simultaneously and I find it easier to have a 2 in 1 robot than having two seperate units.
Thank you for the quick response! Any idea when the vibrating mop and self emptying bin will be released in the USA? Leaning towards the T8 for those reasons. Buy it now and save for those attachments. Thanks again!
It depends on what you are looking for. The T8 is recommended for the mobile security camera feature and mopping abilities. The carpet avoidance when mopping is nice to have. The Roborock has the better navigation and can save 4 maps instead of 3.
@@PurelifeSimplelife It possible, but after many years with both companies, Roborock has consistently beat out the Ecovacs in terms of navigation. I think overtime, both robots will have navigation that is good enough to not worry abiut the robot getting stuck or lost.
When I saw you getting the Roborock from the oven I was OMG. You're hilarious! I love the BobShark2. Second version is definitely more advanced. So what you think of navigation between the two?> Is poo avoidance as accurate for both? Do I understand right that the T8 can't mop and sweep at the same time with the vibrating tank? I found the S6 MaxV to be good at recognizing shoes, maybe it is the easiest task for it, how about the T8 in comparison? The T8 cleaning brush does not have detachable side tips, am I right? Do you still have issues with the ECOVACS app or they have fixed it? Apologies if you said some things in the video, might have missed it. 10/10 keep the good work coming!
So the Ecovacs from my experience the navigation isn't as refined as the Roborock. The App it self is pretty good, stable and works well. I don't know if the vibrating mopping attachment stops the Vacuum system. No the extractor ends aren't removable. The T8 does better with shoes because the extractor bar and side brushes stop spinning to avoid tangle of the shoe laces. The Poo recognition better on the Roborock. Thanks for watching Natalie!!!!
Both robots have their benefits. What features are you looking into. For example the T8 has active carpet avoidance when mopping, the S6 MaxV has better night vision when streaming live video. What your floor plan like?
@@darrentay78 I have always liked the dual side brushes over a single one. Can get dirt and debris from both sides of the robot. On both the Ecovacs and Roborock models they are speed sensitive. Along the base board the side brushes speed up and in open areas slow down to prevent scatter of debris.
You got that correct, the T8 can actively avoid carpet when mopping where the Roborock requires the user to setup a no mopping zones in the app. Both robots have a carpet boost function when vacuuming.
Hmmmm how large is your floor space? For hardwood floors and if your floor plan smaller I would recommend the Shark IQ for the self emptying bin. For larger areas the Roomba i7+ or s9+ are good choices.
@Cajunomics No there no active front sensor on the i7 so it can't recognize or avoid poop. You do have keep out zones in the App so if there a known area your pet always goes at, you could block off the area in the App.
Robot Masters Thank you Sir! Hard to find that data online - I did try! Was asking for a friend who has 6 levels because his house goes down a mountain. BTW, for my use, I did end up getting the Roborock S5 Max and I’m impressed so far. Have a great day.

Great video man as always. I like the potential of the T8 with the vibrating mop pad and the auto empty. Do you know when these will be available in the US? It seems like Roborocks app and navigation are the best, I wish they would come out with an auto empty feature.
Thanks for watching 😅, I haven’t heard of any word when the Ecovacs accessories for the T8 will be released. There been a few post floating around showing the accessories. Anyways one person claimed they will get the accessories in June or July. So for now I will do my best to find more information about these accessories!!! Please stay tuned for the updates 😁
Robot Masters Thanks! Is there a way to shut off the front cameras? Or would covering them disable the robots at all? I don’t have a pet so I’m not worried about the robot running over poo I just don’t want Ecovacs or Roborock to have a video of my house!
az ak So both robots have a setting in their App setting to disable the camera, also the Ecovacs has an included Plastic Camera Cover for additional privacy. Both companies state the images are destroyed after being processed. Ecovacs has encryption on their video feeds when using the T8 as a mobile security device. Roborock also says additional security measures are take if they add the live camera feed to the S6 MaxV
Robot Masters I saw your video featuring the Proscenic M7 Pro vs the Ozmo T8 and you mentioned the Y-mopping pattern the M7 uses as its default. Is this accomplished in their navigation software you think? Do you think Roborock could add this as an update to their software for their higher end robots?
Hi Nathan. Quick question i have seem videos saying you can ask deebot ozmo t8 to go clean a specific room and it does go and cleans it. But they are saying they do that using Alexa.. 🤔 🤔 Robot master is that even true master? 😉
Yes 😀 they are correct on certain models, the 920 and 950 Ozmo series did get a recent update, The T8 hasn’t gotten to Room select feature yet 😩. @@danielsv17 No problem. One thing I've discovered using Alexa is that I am able to refer to the T8 as "Vacuum" whenever I want to send it to a particular room. But if I want to tell it to stop and go charge I have to refer to it as "Deebot". It's no biggie. Just something to be aware of. Maybe with future updates to the skill we could be able to simply use our custom name that we create in the Ecovacs app.
With the Deebot, when i have created a perfect map of a floor i would like to keep and use that map forever. I establish the no-go zones and label all the rooms. Eveything is good so far. The problem is if i only want to clean half the floor and shut the doors to the bedroom the robot will screw up the map. When it is finished cleaning it overrides and saves the map and the bedroom is removed from the map. So if i want to clean the bedroom next time i cannot choose that room. The bedroom is lost. In short, how to deal with doors that will be closed some times without ruining the map? How to stop the robot from saving a new map which erases the perfect map?
Hmm well what model do you have? Some models like the 960 can only save a single map at a time and continually updates if there a significant change aka close room doors. So I would create the map with all doors open, than if you want to do half of the floor only select the rooms you want cleaning. Remember to keep doors open.
@@RobotMasters I have Deebot 950. I create the map with all doors open, and i select only the rooms i want to clean as you suggest. However if the robot sees a door that is closed it will save that "new" map and next time i cannot choose the rooms that had the doors closed. I dont want to keep all doors in my house open everytime i clean, especially if i use scheduled cleaning. And i dont want to remap the house everytime a door is closed. Ecovacs support provide no solution to this and in general they are terrible at customer support. Im wondering if i should return the deebot 950 and go with the S6 MaxV, do you know if the maps on roborock is saved forever or does that also update maps every time you clean and therefore mess up the maps?
@@henrikstene279 So to bring back the old map turn the robot off using physically red power place robot on charger and turn red power switch on. The robot will update to the original map
The Roborock will create a new map if you change like add a keep out zones. The only ones where you can save permanently are the 360 Robots, Roomba and Proscenic models
@@RobotMasters Hmm, i will have to look into this again. Because after finishing a cleaning cycle with closed doors and i am not home, the robot finishes in the docking station and the map is saved/replaced before i can turn it off. But if you are correct and i can do it after, that means i need to manually turn it off and on between every cleaning cycle with closed doors to avoid losing the map. I have to do some more testing.
Cathy Schofield No if you want mopping my best recommendation the S5 amzn.to/2Yb85Hw It a renewed version for a good price, you can also look into the S5 Max that has an electronically controlled mopping system. amzn.to/2YgSpmd
Thanks for the video, I saw from another RU-vid vacuum tester that the s5 max is more powerful than the s6 maxv , this has been tested with suction ability in hard floor and carpet the cfm of the s5 max was more powerful and the camera if the s6!maxv is making the navigation more slower so the s5 max is faster ,what do you think ?
So yes that holds true, while I haven’t personally tested the CFM rating, from what I can recall, if you have a Higher Pa 2500 on the S6 MaxV vs 2000 on the S5 Max this can make the CFM lower on the Roborock S6 MaxV. Directly inverse of each other is usually the case due to rechargeable battery limitations. Either you get a high Pa or High Air Flow. Now we can rule out the extractor bar and side brush are the same, and I assume all other dimensions are equal on both robots. So if my theory holds true, a higher airflow on the S5 Max would yield a better pickup ability. Suction good for getting the dirt out of cracks and crevices, so I suspect the S6 MaxV would do better in a crevice Test. Now for the camera yes it slower to allow the robot to compute what it sees and determine how to properly navigate around them. There is an option to turn the camera off.
I think Roborock is the better robot. But if you get the T8 with the mop attachment and auto empty bin, then it becomes a winner. I wonder if they would release an updated robot to go along with those new attachments?
@@robbiemurray6670 Hi so I checked with MY USA version and seems to support these Accessories. Just waiting on the official release date and more information.
really nice video, its there any really good scrub/washer floors robot, in know there are some mopping robots but it doesnt help, i have an old scooba 450 but its not smart doesnt have lidar or auto return to base so it takes me a lot of time....
From what I tested so far, the Braava Jet m6 is the best mopping robot for stubborn dirt and grime. For wet mopping jobs, the iLife w400 ideal because of its separate Clean and Dirty water tanks.
@@RobotMasters yes I have seen your videos about them but the mopping doesn't help a lot and the ilife it's not smart :( the ilife w400 it's like a copy of the realy old irobot 230...
Robot Masters I’ve got 3 floors totaling about 2300 square feet. One floor is all carpet the other two are mixed hardwood with rugs. I have a dog with dog toys everywhere. There’s also normally a few computer charging cables laying around.
Thanks for great reviews. I saw this video the other day on latest update of the S6 MaxV... Impressive - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OO_u1_r8o8A.html meanwhile I just bought the Ozmo T8 & AIVI , but the App mapping is so buggy, that I gave up on it and returning both Deebots. I wanted to love ecovacs, but it never managed to fully map my house (says cleaning is finished half way through the rooms). Expanding the map is then not possible. Also the map division is extremely buggy, making practically impossible to create specific rooms. Too bad !
Hi Nathan, congratulations, very nice and useful comparison. I would like to know if it would be possible to you to make a short video (1 min to 2 min maximum) with the S6 MaxV and T8 bots cleaning room corners? This would be very important to compare the working efficiency of the side brushes. It can be a video similar to the one that I found on the internet: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-noIN6ylG0U4.html. Thanks in advance and continue your great work.
