Yeah I relate to this. When i began working in tech and earning a salary my parents could only ever dream of, they started emotionally blackmailing me. Nothing is ever enough. I understand why Kandi doesn't say anything. It's a miserable life that I wouldn't wish on anyone.
I didn’t laugh not one bit the entire video & I kept my eyes on kandi. My mom is the same way. Didn’t contribute much to my success but feels entitled to my money like I took out a loan from her.

You did take out a loan from her though it was called life. You got the loan of life. She gave you one and she could have easily not given you one. I know sometimes parents suck. But there is no book to it. You can try your best and be an ideal parent and still raise a murderer. Is mama Joyce wrong absolutely. Beyond wrong and quite disrespectful. But Kandi is clearly wrong for have absolutely no boundaries for her man and his family. Joyce can only do what Kandi allows. It’s sad on both parts.

I agree but i will say as someone with a crazy grandma, family dynamics are intense. My grandma is crazy. One time she said at Christmas that the whole point of the Bible was that Joseph wad cheating on Mary so she needed to protect Jesus. No one said anything. I decided to call my grandma out on the next mean lie. She legit claimed she was invited by Tiger Woods to a golf tournament in Florida. EVERYONE WAS MAD AT ME

Because some children grow up well in spite of their mother/father's behaviour. They saw it at an early stage and decided they didn't want to grow up to be like that. These parents are proud of their children but it alwayss comes across as them not respecting boundaries, trying to live vicariously through them and entitlement.

This reminds me of my mother in law. I’ve been with my husband for 12 years and 3 sons. Last December we found out he has brain cancer. Before he went in for brain surgery he told myself and his family that he has a life insurance policy for a significant amount for the kids and I. After that his mom and sister began telling him I just want him to die so I can get his life insurance policy. And that he should write us off the policy and put their names on it. And whatever the kids need they will provide. I’m a stay at home mom of a 5 year old, 1 year old and newborn. I depend on him so much more than just a check. I can’t believe after being around his family for 12 years they could turn on me like that. Money really brings out the worst in people. 😔

Never like to mom-shame but based on Joyce's behavior she seem like a very messed up parent and one that DEMANDS respect when she acts like child herself.
