Heyyy we made it to our first 50 Tune of the Days! This is a great one too. It's a wild little version of the classic Irish tune "Pigtown Fling" (or "Stony Point") called "Sa Feras Tu Sa Feras Tu Pas" from Franco-American fiddler Wilfred Guillette of Vermont. There are just two slight variations to differentiate this, but OH how lovely those two little variations are. Makes this a real special tune. Wilfred was known for his classic "Grondeuse" which we'll do for Tune of the Day tomorrow. I believe the strange name of this tune, "Sa Feras Tu Sa Feras Tu Pas", is in a kind of French patois and translates to "Will You or Won't You Do It"??
My wife, Dejah Leger, joins me on this one and we'll be playing together with my dad as La Famille Léger this weekend near Leavenworth, WA. We're playing Lincoln Rock State Park the evening of July 5 and Lake Wenatchee State Park the evening of July 6! Check my brand new website for info:

André Alain also played that tune on the record with André Marchand and Pierre Laporte. He called it « L’obstination ».

Ohhh yeah that's right! I've heard it as "L'obstination" before. I like that version too, but this version here is my new favorite! This is a very popular tune all over the Celtic world!
