I've always wanted more sound and character from my 9-3, especially since I did the stage 1 tune. I felt with the added power it deserved more volume to go with it.
Several companies make aftermarket exhaust systems for the 9-3, like Krona, Maptun and maybe a few others, and there are some semi-generic full exhaust systems, but the problem is that I don't want to spend $900-1,200 on a full exhaust and not be happy with the sound. There are videos of many of these but that's not enough to convince me.
I researched muffler deletes and thought that it sounded pretty decent, at the same time I was afraid that I might end up with a Ricer buzz machine that was waking up the neighbors. I was pleasantly surprised however.
The sound is nice, no buzz, not loud and gives you a richer, dynamic aural experience through the rev range. Highway cruising is not impacted, and at idle the sound is just a subdued burble compared to the stock set up.
Apart from an angle grinder or reciprocating saw, this is a $0 dollar upgrade that I think even middle aged drivers will enjoy. Thanks!
