Monkey Wrench Mike’s $475 Copart Saab came with meteorites in the coolant tank. So its die for a new tank and anti-freeze. Plus MWM takes the super cheap Saab on its 1st test drive!
These are really great cars. I bought one almost identical 3 yrs ago and have had nothing but success No breakdowns. No issues. A few tires and oil changes. Pretty bullet proof
Mike, at 7:16 you shout out how quiet the Saab Engine was ! If you keep this Saab 9-3 for you own use, I believe you would love it more and more ! As a Saab owner myself, I really love my 2006 9-3 2.0T and enjoy driving it everyday. Unfortunately GM stopped production of Saab after 2012.... Too Bad ! If you are planning to sell it, how much you're asking for ? Let me know ....
I would believe even with the type of title and what you have into it I can see you getting 2500 for it. 1800 is the least you should accept. The hail damage is the only thing that could be the killer on this deal. If you could get some of the hail damage taken care of you could possibly get more. But again it's a great run and drive and the turbo makes it a real fun yet very functional daily driver. Thanks for the update. As always be safe.
With all the hard work we've seen you exert, bout time you get one like this. Good luck whatever you do with it and thank you for taking us along for the FIRST ride! Sonny
Hey mike you should buy a new temp sensor . It is located top front left of cylinder head . Basically where the top hose connects to the motor .. sensor is screwed in downward you will see the plug . Just behind the metal fuel lines. . They do sell RED led bulbs at autozone . SELL IT FOR $2750 You should have no problems selling it . YOU ARE THE MAN MIKE
All GM coolant is orange so it can better hide the rust from their cheap radiators they used to use. That used to be what my uncle told me amd he was a huge Chevy fanatic. I think that's not true, but he swore it was. Used car prices, especially Saab fanatics and they are out there, will buy this in a heartbeat
When you added up the price towards the end you forgot the additional $20 for the key shell replacement but sweet deal wish i could afford it id buy it
I don't always know. I don't always know when I think I know what I know. To keep an open mind, searching to learn more, taking great caution when sharing my trust. Just might make for a better day. One thng's for sure, though, I won't always know when I think I know what I know. Have a better day anyway. Sincerely, Jekelex
If you make another junkyard run, see if you can get the big plastic cover for the front of the engine that is missing from yours. It looks weird without it.
Well Mike what you just experienced is why SAAB cars have such a loyal following. Its the turbocharged acceleration / torque delivery. Its just like no other car in its class. Even Clarkson found this out to his surprise. My OCD is twitching though. Please get that engine bay degreased!
U forgot to count the thermostat in the expenses…by the way, why don’t you get in touch with Auto Autopsy and sell him the car? He is all about Saab’s..
Hey mike I would ask 2750$ for it in this market ! Decent mileage and it’s nicely equipped. Also I noticed your microphone wire gets caught sometimes during videos , maybe feed wire behind your shirt and through the neck hole and clip it how you normally do this stops it from getting tangled up !! Congrats on subscribers !!
Put it up on all those places shouldn’t take long to sell or this market I would ask 2000 and take 1900. Just my opinion. Like always mike good luck and stay safe
Nice work. With that key fob it looks like 500bucks more. Too bad you don't want to address the paint, I guess maaco in Tulsa is also back logged for weeks. As is 2300 would be fair. Or rattle-can it and aim for 3000... Wait, flip it quick so I can get my W140 red pig content faster, Cato agrees 😁😁
What would the cost be to get the clear coat redone Mike? I was going to ask how the Ducks were getting on together, but it seems we will find out in the next episode. 🤔😁
It all depends on what position the piston is in Mike ought to invest in a cheap small Bora scope to look down possibly even the valve guide depending on how small it is or into the spark plug hole I just hope the piston was up
Isn't that ball thingy in the reservoir a float for the the low coolant level ? Also - in the back of my mind I think that Saab motors are made by Mitsubishi, so are good... !!!
Looks like it has the good coolant T upgrade by the ecu. Those bust all the time and a good thing to do is upgrade them to the metal ones like on this car.
Mike that plug you found is not for the temperature sensor …. It is for the LOW COLANT LIGHT 😂. I’m guessing you did not read the paragraph I wrote to you about your cooling system situation on your last video ????? You probably should read it just trying to help you out
Car prices are quite high at the moment I believe. Any college kid looking for a 'rough' car would probably bite your hand off for $2,500. Also be a good start for project Bentley!!
I like your channel but why you never finish one project? You jump from one car to the other at the end you should rent a storage to keep your different unfinished cars, off course it’s your way off handling your channel but it’s less confusing for us to follow your project’s,any way good luck with the Saab
Monkey Mike owns all the cars I love. Those old Mercedes are charming. I owned in the past a 1972 240D, that was the best, in 2004 I had an E420, really fast, I am looking for a 300 SDL 1998. Any help?
I just need to change the thermostat on mine after getting a P0116 error. Well I guess I will just swap the sensor first and see if that's it, but can you easily remove the tank and move it a little to gain access to the thermostat without draining it?
