I no longer have this car, but I've brought this video over from my other channel as I plan to shut that one down/completely change it.
So, there's still been a lot of confusion regarding SAAB DIC's... If you aren't familiar with a SAAB DIC, DIC stands for... Direct Ignition Cassette. It holds all four ignition coils in a single self contained unit which also uses the spark plugs as knock sensors by reading the fuel ionization at each spark. It also eliminates the camshaft sensor. It's quite an ingenious feat of engineering given the fact that it's been around since 1988.
Back to this video though, many still don't realize that NGK DIC's are in fact the exact same SEM built in Sweden DIC's. Airtex/Wells was the licensee that had the rights to sell the SEM DIC's in the aftermarket space. NGK bought the Wells ignition division from Airtex/Wells back in 2015.

Well, Rock auto sells the NGK DIC. Now here's the kicker, the NGK DIC is the exact same as the factory OEM. They are both made by SEM (Sweden Electro Mechanical). The only difference is (in my opinion) from a business point of view. SEM is a direct to manufacturer supplier and since Saab is no longer a manufacturer, the market for SEM Saab DIC's is pretty slim. So, why not license your product to a company that already caters to the aftermarket? Hence, after NGK's acquisition of the Wells division of AIrtex/Wells (who was the aftermarket supplier for SEM), NGK is now the aftermarket supplier for SEM regarding our ignition cassettes.
