I did the driveshaft tunnels last summer on one of my cars with the same panels. I am an amateur when it comes to welding but it only took me 3 hours to get both sides done. I thought it was going to take a couple of days.
I am almost done with both drive shaft tunnels, however its more than that. They hold up the lower control arms. Those have to be changed. People have lost wheels because nothing was holding on to them anymore. Passenger side is always worst, i had nothing left there, not even rust. I got the same prefab panels and they work but is not 100% spot on so bolt them down before welding for maximum fitting. My videos might help, if not just ask and i will try to explain in my limited English :) You do not have to remove the engine, but it helps. I did not do it.
@@paddy696 yes my brothers first car was a 96 back in 1993 I think 👍; my parents were converted to SAABs following a motorway smash in their 95 back in 1973 with two young children in the car: the Policeman commented that if they'd been in a lesser car, they'd likely not have survived
