SAAB 900 T16 rescue (ep32): interior refit (pt1)

Today was the day to begin the interior refit! 💪
Hoovered and thoroughly cleaned and dried, then initially layered with the brilliant Silent4ever sound deadening. Following this was a dual-layer foam carpet underlay (which also sandwiches a impermeable membrane) to give increased insulation and a more luxurious under-carpet feel.
I really enjoyed this process: really nice to begin to re-fit a solid car, and to make use of all the random parts I had bought in preparation for the install 😁😎
A big shout-out to Huets of Shoreham-by-Sea for supplying the Silent4ever and just being great to deal with... 😎

Hi, I chatted to Illusion (the body shop) and my friend James about it the other day, and decided against: the project would never ever be finished if I was waiting for the inside to be painted as well: mega money and it was always going to be soundproofed anyway (as I've now done) so none of it would ever be seen: it's a small guys project, not a concourse restoration. As soon as the interior is in (only a couple of hours left) then I can focus on getting it MOT ready. Gotta keep it real, I don't have bottomless pockets, and the floor has all been painted in Beryl Green tinted Raptor to protect it which is good enough for me 👍

Sorry just to be clear I didn’t mean the body shop, just scotchbrite pad and hammerite or equivalent! Sounds like you did that but couldn’t see it in the video. Keep up the good work!

Boot drainage rubber tubes, I'd various 90,99 and 900's all had rubber drainage thingies both sides of boot. Didn't see these in your boot, you moving camera/phone a bit quick.

Ah, point me in the right direction if you could: lots has been removed by both me and the welder, so if you think I have something missing then please shout as I've now lost track of some of the dismantling process 😅

They should be lowest area either side of boot floor, It's awhile since I'd a SAAB. I live Penang Island Malaysia now. SAAB's scarcer than Hens teeth here! Hate to admit a Volvo S60 T4 my wheels here. 2011 Vintage heap of Sh1t in comparison to SAAB. Back to boot floor rubbers we're about 1" diameter in boot, had split tube below to assist drainage.
