Awww. That whole scene brought a big smile to my face! How lovely is it that she pulls up in the 9-5 wagon! Reminds me of my folks. So SAABs in the driveway occasionally someone would stop and knock on the door to ask if we were a SAAB garage (as they needed a SAAB mechanic). No. No. We were not a SAAB shop. Just SAAB crazy. :) I miss those days. Very special.
I love that comment, I'm glad it brought back happy memories, thank you for sharing! Yes, I have had more than the occasional knock on the door over the years by fellow SAAB nuts and / or people in need of a mechanic! At one point our driveway had: 1) 9-3 V6 wagon (V-tuner mapped to 320bhp); 2) Mk1 9-5 Aero saloon; 3) C900 T16 convertible; 4) the red 9000 Aero I sold earlier this year, plus 5) a silver 9000 Aero breaker. Since then we have slimmed the fleet a little... 😅. Nice to hear from you, and all the best! 😁
@@martynsboostedswedes I love it! Yeah...In the mid '80s, you would have seen a 96 v4, a couple 99 sedans, a 99 hatchback, a 900 hatchback, a 900 notchback. We got our neighbors into SAABs...they had two 99 Turbo hatchs, and 99 Sedan...Ha! It was SAAB city around here. In the 70s, the driveway always had a couple SAABs...usually a 96 v4 and 95 v4 wagon and a 99 Sedan. My Dad's first SAABs were the 2 stroke engines. I remember he and my uncle swapping out a bad engine from one car with a good engine from a donor car. They were working on it in the driveway and they weren't "mechanics", they were somewhat mechanically inclined and the cars were simple to work on. In the late 90s we moved into the 9000 series and we had 4 or 5 of those, followed by a 9-3 sedan. Cheers my SAAB friend. I love watching your channel. So nostalgic for me. I enjoy it so much. SAAB SAAB SAAB. Hehehehe :)
Hi, yes, it certainly will be sympathetically restored, no doubt! The only potential addition will be my spare pair of 9000 Aero front seats, retrimmed to exactly match - but that's a long way down the road just yet...!
Ha ha, yes, I think I agree 😅. She is a bit of a SAABie herself (she hasn't had a great deal of choice over the years, tbh!). A happy wife is a happy life and all that... 😅
Great project you’ve got there and is great to see how it evolves. Love the colour combo. It’s great to see a Saab couple. Definitely helps when your second half approves :) I’m yet to convert my lady wife, whilst our little son definitely approves our 900 turbo and calls it his car.
Ha ha, it certainly does! I kinda got her hooked with SAABs when I gave her a C900 convertible as a wedding present, all part of the cunning plan... 😁😉👍
Aaaah, yes she is, thank you! 🥰. I'm very fortunate to have such an understanding wife: SAABs are just part of our family, always have been 👍👍 What do you have in your garage?
