Picked up my 900 this week. Jerry, in this video did the bodywork but wasn't in when I picked it up. Really nice bloke, and appraises cars with great care, so thanks Jerry!
Hello Terje, thanks for the question. When I have time and the skills(!) I will re-upload much more professionally :-) So, the story - back in the 1990’s I bought a SAAB...but a 9000 because they were actually cheaper than 900’s ! Anyway, I didn’t love it any less and though it’s sad to admit - even now I have dreams in which I’m driving it! So, now that I can, I asked a UK garage called ‘Two Stroke to Turbo’ to source a decent Classic 900 FPT and do a ‘light restoration’ for me. Let me tell you - I have owned 4 high powered straight 6 BMWs (including one I have now) but none of them are as rewarding as this SAAB 900 T16S. It handles as if it’s on rails due to poly bushes fitted everywhere including locations that can only be accessed with the engine out. Boost is 1.2 bar with a reinforced and reconditioned gearbox, in gear from 2nd through to 5th this baby flies!
Genuinely a ‘barn find’. Covered in cob webs that had been building up since 2015. Owner also had a red Carlsson but unfortunately passed away so his son sold this 900 T16S and the Carlsson.
@@wheatnotthechaff8043 Actually there is no problem to replace the inner bushings on the upper control arms, without pulling the engine. I did it myselfe, and you can see how by washing mu video for refurbishing the upper front suspension.
