I had 2 SAAB 99, 2 SAAB 900 and 2 SAAB 9000 since then it has died out in Canada and not very practical to have one anymore so i have turned to Volkswagen and have had the Jetta TDI which was nice and then on my second Passat and i really like this last one which is a 2008 6 Speed 2.0 Turbo very well equiped and i might go for the Passat CC next...get memories with the SAAB and great to see them still around...the good old days.
In Canada i guess the marketing was different, the 99 started here in 1975 and ended in 1978 when the 900 started and then in 1984 the SAAB 9000 arrived. So in 1983 there as no such thing as a SAAB 99. I had a brown 1976 SAAB 99 GL and followed by 1977 a SAAB EMS black with a red interior.
It strange that its not fuel injected, it has a carburetor...the first SAAB's we got in Canada was in 75 and they already had fuel injection as we never saw carburetors.
