The Saatva Classic is available in soft, medium, and firm feels. It’s a coil-on-coil mattress with a thick 3.0″ euro-style pillowtop layer. In our tests we found both cooling and edge support to be good.
The Saatva offers a moderate level of sinkage and motion transfer, a fast response time, and high bounce. It’s an excellent mattress with a balanced feel that most sleepers will enjoy sleeping on.

I purchased a Saatva in 2015. Within 3 years it sagged more than 2 inches. They replaced it at my expense of almost $300. It's now 4 years later and the same thing happened. I have a lifetime warranty but now they want me to pay for them to repair my mattress and leave me with nothing to sleep on for 5 to 6 weeks. This is frustrating since it's the second time it's happened. Just know the specific details of your warranty with this company.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, Ann. That does sound very aggravating. Saatva's warranty is pretty similar to what you find with many other companies. Though I am surprised to hear they charged you $300 the first time. What was the reason for the charge? Also, if I may ask, what type of foundation do you use? A foundation can have a big impact on when / where / how deep mattresses sag over the years. It may be prudent to upgrade your foundation before you get another mattress.

My girlfriend and I just ordered a king luxury plus. Have not received it yet but we are very much looking forward to trying out our first 'high quality' mattress. I was wondering about the base. We have a platform style frame now. I've seen people put the mattress on top of their old box springs and thought it was weird. We ordered the 14.5 so I didn't think box springs were needed. I'm in construction so I can modify the base if needed. Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated.

Excellent, detailed review, love the scientific approach and the rankings. Two things you might want to mention in your reviews, the price of the mattress and more importantly, whether the mattress contains fiberglass. The use of fiberglass as a flame retardant has become a major concern these days, and people who are wary about fiberglass escaping into their homes and having to pay 20-30K$ to have it professionally removed would be well served if mattress reviews included that information.

Thanks, Kenneth! And I really appreciate the feedback. We can definitely include the price and start discussing fiberglass. You can expect those in our future videos.

What are the advantage / disadvantage of the 11.5 vs 14.5. From the video I believe there is no difference. But then why to two different heights ?
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews 6 дней назад
It's purely aesthetic. There is no function difference between the two.

This is a great review. The one thing is a rough idea of the cost and warranty on the mattresses. We've had to replace our mattress before because the coil would stick through the mattress. ( not this type) seems like a well made mattress.
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews Год назад
Price / cost is definitely something we could start including. As far as warranty goes, we can definitely include more, but my thought up to this point has been that it's just too big a can of worms to open up. Getting into the specific warranty terms, conditions, and consumer experience is a lot to unpack. On most mattresses, I could do a 10 minute discussion just on the warranty. My thought has been that most viewers simply don't want that much on the warranty...it's really hard to talk about unless we fully explain the pros and cons of every major condition.

You are so very helpful to the people looking for there perfect mattress ! I got the wink bed in luxury firm loving it but I am 180 and 5/6 and half am feeling super comfy but would appreciate more bounce or at least a bit faster response time for I have a difficult time moving in different positions The wink bed lux firm is not hard to change positions in but I am hoping with the latex on the wink bed plus will give me just that with just a bit more support in my trunk area as this is where I hold all my weight. I am hoping it works out for me but my first choice was the saatva classic but if I am being completely candid I wanted to try the less expensive one out of the two first. To me the winkbed feels like a whole big soft body pillow with great support just very lofty! If the plus doesn’t work out would suggest I try the Saatva firm? I just don’t like my trunk seeinking to lowly but am loving the plush feel up against my body anything what I’m looking for is a firm, supportive dad that has great talents, excellent responsive time which I know can be different from what I’ve heard, and something that does not feel harsh to my body without thinking too deeply. I tend to go from my back to my side bellly never just on my side it’s half belly side is what I call it. My lower back needs to feel propped up just enough it’s not overly sinking. Finding the perfect mattress is not an easy task in general but esp for me as I have sciatica than runs from lower back all the way to my feet with neuropathy symptoms! I go back-and-forth between my back and my side belly and sometimes on my whole belly because sometimes everything else need to rest. If you have any suggestions, hi would greatly appreciate them. I don’t expect magic. Just more ideas as I do not want to feel limited, but also don’t want to go too far in debt into more expense if I don’t have to. I am going to try the wink bed plus and see if it hits that sweet spot between support ease of position and yet still be able to comfort all my pressure points t

Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad my videos have been helpful. Based on your feedback and experiences it sounds to me like the Winkbed Plus is exactly what you need. It's a little more firmness, with lots of extra support. If for some reason you find it's still just not enough then yes, something like the Saatva Classic Firm would be a logical next mattress to try.

Help! The Winkbed and Helix Lux are about $400.00 difference (today). I am a 250lbs athlete that prefers a strong coil bed with a Euro Top feel. I tried the 5 minute store test yesterday on the Helix Twilight Luxe (Medium Firm) and I liked a lot. I fall asleep on my back but often wake on my side. I am from Wisconsin and I live in Phoenix where each are made, so I would prefer one of these two over a Saatva Classic $300 (today) more than the Winkbed. Are there any reasons why I would want one of these 3 over the other? They all seem to be very very close in numbers. I like that the Saatve is shipped out NOT CRUSHED but the warranty seems lacking once you read it...
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews Год назад
Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with any of these 3 choices. Winkbed and Saatva Classic are the highest scoring mattresses we've tested to date. And Helix Luxe isn't far behind ranked #7 (out of 150+). Helix Luxe has a little more of the memory foam feel on top. Winkbed has a more balanced feel. And Saatva is a bit more of the classic coil feel with a less dramatic body contouring Go with the feel that seems like it best meets your preferences. In all cases, the performance will be excellent on any of these 3.

This looks to soft for an older adult with metal in neck and lower back. From the demo , it sinks and bounces to much. So what is the firm like. I would like to see a demo on that one!
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews 2 года назад
Firm is going to be equally as bouncy. It's a very traditional spring / coil feel. The sinkage is fairly typical though compared to most other brands we've tested.

Love the mattress reviews! I have a list of 4 mattresses ive been trying to decide between but instead i keep adding to the list! 🤣 Whats your recommendation for a firm mattress (back pain issues) for a side sleeper? ❤️
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews Год назад
Thanks, Tracy! Glad to hear the reviews are helpful 🙂 Are you certain you need a firm mattress? As a side sleeper, generally medium soft, medium, or medium firm is the ideal firmness, as it allows you midsection to drop enough, bringing your lower, middle, and upper back / spine into neutral alignment with itself. A firm mattress will usually have too much support, pushing the body out of alignment. However, in some cases a firm mattress can be appropriate for side sleepers (but it's usually only for very heavy sleepers, 300+ pounds). Let me know your thoughts.

@@NapLabReviews i appreciate the feedback! Soft mattresses do tend to increase my back/hip pain & lying on the hard floor always feels great on my back, so i just kind of assumed firm although I have been looking at medium firms and firms to decide which would help reduce pain the best! The choices are endless & you have had most on your video list....very helpful!
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews Год назад
@@therecoverytherapist A medium firm should be a good compromise, especially if you can find a mattress with zoned support. If you haven't already...I would encourage you to also take a look at the Winkbed and Bear Elite Hybrid. Both are medium-firm feels with a zoned coil unit. Both are among the highest performing hybrid mattresses I've tested. I think either could be a good fit for you.

Is this your real and honest review or are you being paid for them to rank it this highly? Because this company is known to spend tons of advertising on well known podcasters, etc.
@NapLabReviews
@NapLabReviews Год назад
This is my real opinion. I liked the Saatva Classic now as much as I did when I first tested it in 2015. Saatva has never paid me a cent for any review. Furthermore, they have never even made a direct or even implied offer requesting some type of preferential treatment. We use referral links for Saatva to support our work, which is the same as we do for virtually all brands that we test and review (only exception is brands that don't have a referral program or we are not in their program). We don't do any type of pay to play, pay for ranking, etc. You can read more about our commitments here - naplab.com/about/
