Another great Sabaton song that really captures the horror and sacrifice of the soldiers in the trenches. And the sad thing is that WW1 was a war about nothing except the arrogance and pride of the leaders at that time, not to mention the stupidity of the generals. And the common soldier, fighting for his homeland, pays the price. This says it all: "I do my duties, pay the price, I'll do the worthy sacrifice." Thanks for sharing, and keep rocking.

I'd probably recommend "Price of a mile" next by Sabaton. Another hard hitter showing the price of war and its conviniantly mention in this song.

images are from a netflix movie, "all quiet on the western front", not the old one though (1930 and 1979) its a new german made one (Im Westen nichts Neues), based on German veteran Erich Maria Remarque’s semi-autobiographical 1929 bestseller. and i have to say its very bleak and disturbing (though it has to be to be realistic)

As a person who been grown up and trained to protect these borders and ppl inside these borders no matter the price if so needed.I hope that day never comes that I need those skills that I have, its been nervous 8 months. :)

The more tragic thing is all of that happens, according the film, in the 3 last days of WW1. So many people dying in the very end of it. War is a stupid thing.

It even went to the last hour. No general wanted to be the person who stopped fighting. No matter the country the war kept going on stil the last hour hell even to the last minutes

Someone mentioned the footage is from the new movie all quite on the western front which i believe is from the German perspective. Also I believe the german gunners are shooting at the first creation of the tank which would be the British. I'm ex British army my great grandfather was a cavalry man but ended up at the somme when i I enlisted i joined the ROC (royal armoured corps) more specifically to the royal tank regiment during my deployments the insignia is big willie the first heavily armed tank and our Motto is Fear Naught this regiment was my great grandfathers also they switched horses for armoured vehicles

Those tanks are the wrong kind if they are supposed to be British tanks, those are German. British tanks had that famous full body track rhombus design

Dominika, (I hope I spelled that right), Your reaction is understandable to the video, it was such a waste of human life. Sabaton history covers this problem well, it was 1800s thinking against 1900s technology it just couldn't work and it would cost thousands of lives. "The Price of a Mile" from Sabaton really illiterates this well, play the movie version. Thank you again for sharing.

It was not only the general's stupidity in tactics, but it was also the fact this war had no reason to be fought other than the arrogance and pride of the leaders at the time. Generally, one side in a war has a purpose, even if it is evil. In the case of WW1, it was fought because of a series of idiot reactions by European leaders, who had nothing except protecting their pride as a reason. Even sadder, it solved nothing and directly led to an even greater conflict 21 years later, a conflict which gave rise to the three most repressive and evil governments in modern times.

Not the official music video. Official one shows the band and behind the scenes images while making / recording the song. This fan made one shows war etc but in my opinion does not really go with the song. Go watch the official one so much better.

The chourus is so beatufyl but the message is aweful, how something this cruel can sound like angels are singing, but that is nothing compared to what polititians makes people do.

I understand why she is upset, this is some aweful images and its not even as bad as it was in real life, as u said, this is from a movie called "Nothing new on the western front" but its what Sabataon was singing in the song Great war all along, but i agree with your wife , this is horrible to watch, the song is fantastic but the images is horrible.
