Why was the Sabbath observed?
To remind them of bondage - Deuteronomy 5:15
Given to Moses not before - Exodus 31:13
Observed only by the Jews - Leviticus 19:2-3
The Sabbath has an expiry date:
It's end was prophesied - Hosea 2:11; Jeremiah 31:31f
It's end fulfilled - Hebrews 8:6-13; Colossians 2:14-17
Can't keep Law - Galatians 3:10-12; 23-27; 5:4
If we keep the Law, shall we not keep the penalty of the Law? Exodus 31:14-15; Acts 15:28-29
The significance of the Lord's Day:
The day Jesus rose from the dead - Mark 6:1f; Matthew 28:1; Luke 24:1; John 20:1
The day Jesus was declared Son of God - Romans 1:3-4
The day the Church was established - Leviticus 23:15-16
