You can't know it in the anime (for being a japanese wordplay), but the actual trigger for Sabo to remember Ace and Luffy was the word "Sakazuki" on the newspaper, because is not only the name of Akainu, but also the name of the sake cup they'd used to drank it together (you can listen to little Ace saying it before they drank it).

yeah. he basically heard the words "ace", "luffy", and "sakazuki" in rapid succession. sakazuki being the admiral's name is a pretty genius choice by oda

One thing I like about the whole reunion scene is Bartolomeo. This Luffy fanboy sees his idol break down and bawl like a baby, and it only strengthens his admiration for the man.

I have no idea if it ever got animated or not, but some years back Oda actually drew a little "what if" comic that depicted a very different outcome for the climax of the Marineford war. Perhaps someone could introduce our dear reactors to said story at some point, be it the print or screen version (should the latter even exist)....?

I always saw this as more of Fujitora trusting in fate, so he doesn't fudge his rolls because it would be like trying to guide or change fate. I think he felt the future would be amiss if he moved against fate so he left it to chance, putting into the universe that what he was deciding was Straw Hat's fate and the universe kept on saying "Yeah but...what if not?"

I've noticed you've started to laugh and joke more through even the most emotional moments. If it's natural, you of course should continue to do so, but you became some of my favourite reactors because you really, really took in the emotional scenes and took them to heart and then joked, laughed and discussed afterwards. And as such, if you've made the change by choice, you shouldn't feel forced to do so. You were already brilliant, both of you. But as I said, if it's natural and simply a sign of you enjoying the show and feeling comfortable you should carry on. The natural, unforced reactions are always the greatest. Looking forward to continue this journey with you.

I think Oda made Sabo in order to get revenge on Akainu so that luffy's hand will not get dirty. Oda stated that he created Ace to die, so that I think he created Sabo for revenge.
