I bought the smaller 42" model about two years ago, used, kind of out of necessity as my mower broke down and my grass was pretty high, so I grabbed the closest available used mower I could afford. So far, it's been the most reliable mower I've had in recent years. It's really basic, with no accessories. It's around twenty years old, but starts, runs, and cuts like a new one! I've read/heard conflicting stories about these mowers - some people say they were built by the MTD umbrella, meaning they are the same as nearly all the other "Harry Homeowner" models, just with a different nameplate, just like the industry does today. Others say they are literally John Deere mowers, built just like their other equipment, allbeit more on the economy level. I still don't know the actual truth. I'm leaning towards believing they were actual John Deere products, and they failed *because* people thought they were just platform-shared low end products. Either way, mine has been reliable and does a nice job.
Model 19-48H built from 2000-02, same frame as my Deere GT275 (1995-98), but without the plastic fender trim and fragile Deere hood. The GT is a wonderful tractor. You have a K62 trans and Kohler Command 20hp which is a good engine. The Sabre should take any LX or GT attachment.
Hello, orange lever is for throttle. The large black upright lever to the left of the throttle is for raising/lowering the deck. I hope this helps thanks for your question.
