I loved What Not To Wear, because I had huge issues with fit, and Stacy and Clinton *really* helped with that. Also Stacy was very open about the fact that her weight fluctuated a lot when she was younger due to health reasons, but she always focused on looking fabulous no matter what. And that really *really* helped break me out of the disordered eating super thin mindset that adolescence and pop culture had thrust upon me. Stacy London was interviewed by Hysteria a while back, and I DMed her afterward, thanking her for her interview and for everything the show had meant to me. She was super kind and wrote me back, and sent a very sweet message. Whatever her relationship with Clinton Kelly, Stacy London is a class act.
Wow! I had forgotten about What Not to Wear! I LOVED that show, despite not being at all into fashion, because they really did do what Louis is saying: They clued people in to what might work best for them and gave them a reality check of how they were presenting themselves to the world.
There are 2 things that Louis references that always gives me a good cackle: 1. Sirius XM’s The Groove channel and 2. Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair. 😂😂
So I am a super big nerd. I have been terrified for 10 years. The DNC is really for nerds like me and swing voters you are correct. ButI am lame enough to admit I needed it in my life because it's been fucking bleak.
Great conversation about women, gay people, etc in comedy. Definitely made me think of one of my favorite comic, who happens to be a lesbian: Ashley Gavin. If you haven’t heard of her, check her out.
Ira, be careful, so that man doesn’t sue you for slander! 😅 RFK didn’t actually kill the bear that he moved to Central Park. The story is weird enough without that being true!😅
Louis didn't watch one second of the DNC. Clown. The best part of Ru hosting Kimmel was not knowing who Nymphia was lmao. Also, Kamala was very much on the finale of Drag Race in a pre-taped message. For some reason, Leslie Jones, Lance Bass, and others were sitting alongside her on the couch. Moral support, I guess.
Louis looks very stoned in this ep, although I know that’s not really his thang sooooooooo…whassup Jeopardy? Is the Emmy nom taking a toll on your glassy red eyeballs 🤔 🤷♂️? For the record, Ira should insist on doing a stoned episode in the future. Just sayin’.
