I think the six of eddo brandes is one of sachin's best ever Six!! what a shot, i was 9 years old when i saw this and just went crazy watching him play in this match.. Mashallah. He is real pride of india, A Legend. the day sachin retires would be the hardest day of my life and the whole country
U wrote this in 2011 , as per my calculation. U were 9 yrs. I was 10. Born December 86. I saw Sachin when he was 21. In this match he n whole team was in severe pressure as he was captain. And lots of other issues come up playing at international level. Good match . 🤗
Tendulkar at 100 and India 151/2 ...! That very much speaks about the usual picture of indian cricket in the Tendulakr era. He was a lonely warrior for India for almost 15-17 years out of 24 years of his crickting Career.
Zimbabwe was a very tough team then. Dravid , Ganguly and Tendulkar are almost of the same age. But by the time Dravid and Ganguly could come to terms with international cricket, this genius had already stamped his authority on the game. I still remember Ganguly struggling to put bat on ball during his ODI debut in Australia in 91-92 triseries, and Tendulkar was smashing the bowlers all around the park. Really was a genius. It was as if he was born to play perfect cricket !
I clearly remember this tri-nation tournament being played in South Africa-Zimbabwe back in 90's as if it happened just yesterday...India was playing really poor in that series and needed to win the last match by completing the chase in 38 overs ..everything was stacked against India until Sachin Tendulkar produced this magical century to book India a berth in the finals against SA...It was devastation that day, specially that straight six over the head of Brandes who was the best bowler in that tournament , took fifers against both India and South Africa in previous matches...
back then Zimbabwe were a formidable side and I still remember watching the match till the end, because there was no guarantee on the result after Sachin gets out.
Pretty strong team Zim during the time..Campbell, Brandes, Guy Whittal, Strang, And above all Heath Streak...David Houghton pretty old by the time..a fighting side,,,
I remember this match sachin was d captain at that time eventually it is a semi final lyk game. Zim set tgt of 240 india need to achieved that inside 40ovs. To qualify in final against sa. Ind manage 2 make a draw against zim in d first encounter. Robin singh saba karim partnership help 4 a draw.
Great video man! Thanks a lot. The shot at 6:09 used to be played repeatedly as part of a Star-Sports highlights reel and I used to be captivated by it every single time.
He's god of cricket... Yes he is.. Undoubtedly... Sometimes may not win the match with his knocks... But even God can't save us all the time when the fate fucks us..
its been almost 15 yrs this match was played, and at that point sachin had completed almost 7-8 yrs in international cricket. the little man is still goin strong..speaks a lot about the love he has for the game!!! KUDOS!!!
Sir.Sachin played this game with 100% confidence of winning this target i have seen this match live i am addicted to cricket & sir.sachin, those days are gifted to see sir.sachin batting. when i am typing this world cup 2023 is going on to be frank not interested to see the cricket match 0% not even 1% keen in knowing what is happenig😂
remember a streaker out on the ground and sachin lost a bit of momentum and was out eventually after getting his 100...first time did i see such an incident on the cricket field...
Tendulkar made 104 and must have got out before 160. With india needing 81 more and with their form in 90's they must have lost the match because it was all about sachin those days. he was our only saviour. brilliant inning.
those crowds for india vs Zimbambwe match in a neutral venue... Cricket used to be such a raze back in the 1990's. Although cricket is popular even today, India was like the bangladesh of today in terms of craze for cricket. Mad Mad.
During this time the pitches in South Africa used to be bouncy & double paced. It was very tough to play on such pitches. Nowadays it's too flat as the batsmen make merry.
Sachin played numerous times under pressure in odis early wkts down in chasing 117n.o vs aus when ind 87/3 2.143 vs aus ind 130/4 chasing 276 in 46 overs 3. 81n.o vs sl when ind 26/2 4. 175 vs aus when ind 150/4 chasing 350 5. 141 vs pak when ind 60/2 6. 95 vs p pak when ind 12/2 7.91 vs eng when ind 64/4 8. 90 vs aus when ind 7/2 9. 95 vs sl when ind 20/2 10 85 vs zim 34/2 11. 97 vs pak ind 45/2 12. 98 vs pak 53/2 13.80 vs aus ind 64/5 14.88 vs aus when ind 47/5 15. 82n.o vs wi when ind 29/3 Numerous innings he played like this In 1st batting 141 vs aus ind 8/2 101 vs sl ind 102/4 107 vs eng ind 52/3 And many more
The fielding of Zimbabwe team in the 90s was electric. It was better than Aussies. SA & Zimbabwe were the best fielding sides in the late 90s. Their fielding standards could've matched today's era.
