That I don't need it, and neither do you. But you have to accept the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity as your Lord and Savior., but even before that you can still go before God anytime and as your are.
Love the fact that you refer to Temple clothing as garments and Robes of the Holy Priesthood which both men and women wear. Which is another indication that Heavenly Father gives His daughters priesthood power although they are not ordained to a priesthood office like His sons are.
It makes me feel like a superhero! Under my regular clothes I have clothing that have symbols that reminds me and others that I have been given power and have made commitments to help build a better society for everyone.
When I first received my endowment the garment felt so deeply special to me, it had a profound effect on my testimony. I have been wearing the temple garments for over 30 years, and it still feels special and very sacred everyday. I didn’t even realize that I do have a kind of ritual when I put it on every morning. Thank you for this video. Excellent
Thanks for another great video. As I have recieved my Endowment in the few months I find myself drawn to The Temple. Many questions enter my mind before, during,, after my experience. I find my feelings about the sacred clothing in alignment with you in the fact that its a reminder of who I really am and my eternal purpose. Thanks again for creating a forum in which these beautiful, sacred ordinances and covanants may be discussed in respectful manner. My relationship with The Savior has completed changed after attending The Temple and always look forward to going.
Thank you for the explanation! This passage from Romans 8 came to my mind after listening, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.
Excellent video in a time where people can see the opposite, total mockery against the church. What a great video for someone that may soon be attending for the first time!!
Thank you so much for this video, made clearly and respectfully. I feel the love of our Heavenly Parents and their son, Jesus Christ, wrapped around me tangibly by wearing the garment of the Holy Priesthood. I love the robes for their spiritual significance and majesty. 😍
Thanks for the video! I appreciate the physical gift from God that reminds me of the covenants I’ve made, the tangible representation of the what and why Jesus did what he did for us.
Early Christians wore sacred holy garments while doing secret rites. Rites that would be familiar to Later Day Saints. They also wore sacred garments under their clothing. Archeologists have found them with marks on them.
The Compass and the Square represent "works" and is in opposition to "grace". It doesn't matter whether it's in LDS, Freemasonry, or this supposed "early Christian" claim you are making. It's hard to say when people started introducing "works" into Christianity. It was certainly present in Freemasonry many hundreds of years before LDS. It would be interesting to have more information on these "early Christians". The Temple Endowment today is a Pagan ritual that teaches multiple Gods. It teaches the religion of ancient Egypt. "Works" to become a God after you die. It's the same religion just with different names. It's very, very different from Christianity.
It draws me closer to Jesus Christ. On the few occasions when I am not wearing them it doesn't feel as comfortable, which reminds me that the Lord is blessing me for wearing them faithfully.
I love wearing the garments. They are very comfortable. They make me feel more prim and proper. More modest. I feel more pure and more spiritually protected with them off. Without them, I used to get chafing on my inner thighs when I walked a lot. Since wearing those since around 1998, I have never had that problem.
I'm getting baptized this Saturday (August 26th) and I will be honored to wear the temple garments. I wish I didn't have to wait a year to go to the temple but I completely understand that I have to prove myself to be worthy. Can you give me any advice for the next year to become worthy? Meeting with the Elders today for the last time before my baptism this weekend, feeling so very blessed.
What a great lesson on the Garments. I love your channel my Dear Sister. And your reverence for our Doctrine. You explain it in a plain and straightforward way. Helping members and nonmembers alike understand why we believe what we do. Thank you
Love that the Lord literally invests in us... from the Latin Vestire.... so the Lord our Heavenly Father invested His Beloved Son and my temple and garment representative of Jesus... to be like Him. My daughter would put on my clothes to feel close. I am enwrapped in His Ever lasting ❤️
I know what you mean Lydia! I enjoyed the opportunity I had 2 weeks ago in the London Temple with your husband, Paul, performing proxy sacred sealings for my ancestors! ❤️
These videos are fun. One huge difference between Old Testament Temples and our LDS Temples is no woman was allowed to wear temple clothes in the biblical days. In fact, women were not allowed to enter the temple. It was a boys only club. I am happy we let women in our temples.
Jasmin, can you give more clarity on what our current robes symbolize? I know you explained what the Israelite high priest wore and what those symbolized. Do our robes hold the same meaning?
Why do we do what Satan tells us to do in the endowment by putting on an apron? We keep it on through the whole ceremony. Even with the robes of the priesthood. Anyone have an answer or thoughts?
Can you also explain Adam-God doctrine and Blood Oaths from old Endowments? My grandparents and parents made Blood Oaths but I didn't. And Adam-God doctrine was only taught in the temple for about 50 years from what I've read
@@dannyrocket77 I no longer go to the temple. I left the church in 2015 when they said kids with gay parents can't be baptized. I didn't return after that idiotic policy was rescinded
@@nathanbigler you really stuck it to the Lord didn’t you? Do you not understand why gay marriage is diametrically opposed to Gods plan? If you want to understand cognitive dissonance, have a child go to church, learn the true organization of how family works in Gods plan, then send those kids back to a home with parents who have chosen a relationship that is irreconcilable to Gods plan. The policy wasn’t idiotic if you truly get what the plan is about. It was actually quite prudent and respectful to the rights of the gay parents.
Why people posts videos teaching stories from other's people? If you want to know in one book source go to temple and cosmos from hugh nibley. The good thing that hugh has is that he doesnt tell you the meaning, it leaves you to find it and he just points to the right direction. And BTW, the best way to learn is ask Heavenly Father and do your own study and keep your mouth shut and He will give you more
She showed it straight from the Hebrew language…yes, it actually does mean that. You are referring to a very simplistic explanation of the English equivalent of the word atone. Her explanation is historical and scholarly sound. Your version is something a seminary teacher came up with.
All you need as a Christian is to pray for Gods Armor, Ephesians 6:10, The Whole Armor of God. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil. God has you put on the helmet of salvation, the breast plate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the word of the spirit and the word of God, the shield of faith and the belt of truth. Why would anyone need anything else but the Armor of God to protect themselves. This comes straight from God not from any other source. There is no priesthood other than the Priesthood of Jesus Christ who is our High Priest, you may want to read Hebrews in the bible.
@@dannyrocket77 Why, why do you need a temple, the temple of God is within each one of us, you do all these things and you undermine Jesus Christ our mediator and High Priest.
@@JH-nj8up All you need is to believe in the new covenant that Jesus ushered in when He died for us, by faith alone and His grace is all we need, Jesus is sufficient, you need to stop diluting Him by temples, priesthoods and rituals.
You can Go before God anytime without symbolic ceremonial clothing. Let's hear what God Himself says about this in: HEBREWS 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need..." There you are Mormons. No endowments, ordinances, Basin water on 12 oxens, progression of rooms to approach God, eating all your vegetables, symbolic ceremonial clothing, sacred things done in secret. Just boldly go to the throne of grace.
I learned a lot of what they believe here. I appreciate their devotion. However, your bigotry is not appreciated. The interpretation of your quote is most narrow.
@Common Cents Let me point out the following. It was the Mormon church who first attacked Christianity when Joseph Smith said that "all the churches are wrong and an abomination before God..." ( Joseph Smith---History 1:19). Let me quote from one of your prophets: "You must not think that I am opposed to slavery. No! The Negro is damned, and is to serve his master till God chooses to remove the curse of Ham..." ---Mormon prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, V.2, pp 142-143. Let's go back in time to September 1857 to the MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE in which "Mormons" led by John D Lee murdered 120-140 innocent men, women, and CHILDREN of the Baker-Fancher wagon train. Later before his death John D Lee confessed that Brigham Young gave him the order to kill all those innocent people. And to add insult to the victims, the Mormon church names a university after Brigham Young (BYU). So please don't stand there thinking you have somekind of "moral high ground" on me or anyone else.
Neither Christ or his Apostles made any teachings or commandments about what we should wear. Mormons wear 'sacred undergarments' because Joseph Smith taught that they should be worn, not Jesus himself. Mormons wear special (masonic like) clothing in (masonic like) temple rituals as they work towards their (masonic like) exaltation rituals, to obtain Godhood, as they believe, all this is done in faithful obedience and profound trust in the founder of that church, Joseph Smith.
You have no idea the extent of what Christ or his apostles taught; John said that all the books in the world could not contain all of Jesus' teachings (John 21:25). Also, Joseph Smith is an apostle, so yes, the apostles did teach it. You also might want to look into the origins of freemasonry and how it relates to the Hebrew temple; "masonic like" really isn't the insult you think it is.
thats true, we do believe that joseph smith was a prophet of God, and the lord restored his true church, and yes there are simulare masonic rituals, but over century of time the masons knowledge got distorted and now its just a faterity ,not the true temple endowment
Hello Zach. With respect, l know what Christ and his Apostles taught, it's clearly laid out in the Holy Bible. therefore l know what the Bible teaches, and very importantly also what they didn't teach, and what they did actually warn Christ's followers about, false prophets and teachers coming in Christ's name having deceivingly spirits, another gospel, our lord so often said," see that no man decieves you". John 21:25 says there are many other things Jesus did, not taught, many miracles and wonders. No, Christ's Apostles definitely did not teach anything Joseph Smith taught. My faith is in the full and finished revelation of God in the bible. The Mormon faith has it's authority based solely on one man, the claims Joseph Smith made for himself, and the doctrines teachings and practices he taught his followers to believe. My faith is based on Jesus Christ and his Apostles as found in God's word the Holy Bible, as that lovely song Bible believing christians love to sing,' on Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand'. Here l stand.
@@geoffnoyes520 Nowhere does the bible claim to be a finished revelation from God, nor does it claim to contain all that God has revealed. If you are eluding to Revelation 22:18-19, that verse only referred to the book of Revelation. The bible wasn't compiled into the collection of separate writings that we have today until the 4th century. To say those verses refer to the bible is not reasonable given the historical context and it ironically does what John says not to do....which is to alter his words. God has never declared the cannon closed. everything else you have said is not supported by holy writ as well.
There are many cultures, all over the world that maintain strikingly similar practices, down to these signs and tokens. From the Maori (special schooling), the Hopi (adult initiation), the Navajo (Teachings of the 4th world), Hindu ritual (sacred thread ceremony I think), and even some Sub-Saharan religions (priestly initiation in light oriented Voodoo). They are as similar to the Temple rituals as Masonry is. The Temple rituals have been had among many peoples throughout history, and have also been corrupted in a similar fashion. Joseph's mission was to restore, so that fragment of truth to which the Mason's were beneficiaries, may have acted as a spur for the inquisitive mind of Joseph to go to the Lord concerning it. I also suspect that the origination of Temple ritual during the restoration was being fomented much earlier, as the work of Don Bradley has shown early accounts to state that the cover of the Golden Plates had the "implements of Free-Masonry" upon it, and that the Urim and Thummim triangles were an equilateral and right triangle, one in each stone, that when overlapped allowed for the seer's sight. Stating that Mason ritual and Temple ritual are the same is just paving the way to find it everywhere else. The rites are far older than Masonry, even if Free-Masonry served the function of inspiration.
@@lunabeta3516 Does this make it right for something as sacred as temple garments for MILLIONS , be desecrated by a small few? Should we take a picture of your “private” belongings and put them on view with your name? TV has destroyed the sacred amd makes everything common. To say: OMG is a perfect example. We do not desecrate Heavenly Father’s name or the Savior’s name. Now TV and movies make the Savior’s name as a swear word and we continue to watch the movie. Now little children amd adults constantly say: OMG. There is no escape anymore. Even if we destroyed our TV, we won’t destroy our phones. Now, without given permission, we are inundated with ads we did not ask for. Invasion into our minds and daily lives has made sacred very common or worse. We do not object , for the task of doing so is like trying to stop a lion from eating us, too. The scriptures stand true to what has been repeated for centuries.
