Lmfaoo I’ve had 2 pitbulls in my life that I adopted. The first one, Bear, was very masculine and protective of me but his best friend was a cat. He would always be so gentle about how he walked and jumping on my bed. He’d always wait for permission to get up on my bed and he would do the cutest thing to get under the covers he would just start digging until I lifted the blanked and he would crawl down into the blanket and lay by my legs/feet. He would play bite me which I actually loved, and only once he accidentally hit me full force while playing with a toy. He immediately felt so guilty and stopped playing and was giving me this empathetic and apologetic look and you could just tell he felt awful. It didn’t even hurt as bad as when I got bit by my moms tiny little terrier that actually drew tons of blood and purposely jumped up to bite me. Bear unfortunately died at 3 years old (I adopted him at 1) from lymphoma. I now have another adopted pitbull that I got from the same shelter, orange which is a kill shelter. The entire shelter is basically pitbulls which is very sad. I’ve had this dog for about 4 years now and he just turned 7. He doesn’t do well with our Ferrell cat we found years ago but she also Instigates him by following us on walks and trying to sneak up and jump out at him. It’s not like he wants to kill and eat her, more like he is curious and wants to run and chase her. He does really well with other dogs tho which is completely opposite of my first one. He has really bad tiny baby teeth that they think we’re grinded down by chewing on fences. He can’t even chew a carrot so the thought of him biting is non exsistant lol but the vet did diagnose him with “happy tail” which is his main unintentional weapon lol he can’t control it and he wags his tail so hard it’s like a whip. When we first adopted him his tail was completely covered in blood from wagging it and hitting the walls of the shelter kennel he was in. Pitbulls get a really bed rep. I’ve even had people straight up ask while walking my dogs “is that a pitbull…get him away from me” and then walk around to the other side of the street. Like yesss he is very scary he might actually lick you and his breath isn’t always the best 🤣
