I think being recommended random 80s Post-Punk songs by RU-vid is today's equivalent of finding old records in your dad's closet. In all seriousness, this is the good stuff, thanks for posting this.
It's funny you mention that. I went through my parent's old LP collection with my nieces a while back. It was mostly Opera, Blues and Orchestral work which is great how ever we found some killer Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull albums mixed in there. I never would've thought my parents were rockers but oh well, they were young to!
In some ways it can be just as special if not more. I love all the music I've learned from my pops, but there are also so many songs and bands I don't think I would've ever known about if it weren't for a youtube recommendation.
i love this song soooo much, but i cant listen to it without feeling the need to cry my soul out.... a guy i was seeing played me this song and now it always reminds me of him. btw the situation was the same as the one in the song.... :(
I worked my feelings out I sing the words I'd like to shout And it comes as no surprise You've changed the rules again We came here starry eyed We went away dissatisfied And it comes as no surprise It comes as no surprise I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more The sun won't rearrange A passion still resisting change And I hope you realize We've both been fooled the same Your heart's an open book You're too afraid to take a look And I hope you realize Yes I hope you realize I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more We were lost in a moment Maybe you didn't notice I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more My burning senses shout a melody too strong to doubt And it comes as no surprise You've missed the point again We came here starry eyed But now it seems those stars have died And it comes as no surprise Well it comes as no surprise I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more Maybe you didn't notice We've lost it all
People say it often especially around 80s synth/newwave/postpunk bands, but these guys were WAYYYYY ahead of their time, genuinely. im sort of an 80s-phile and I never heard of these guys. Let this autoplay and just assumed it was newage stuff. Blew me away to see "(1982)" on it. Either way good stuff. Take care yall
I seem to recall seeing references to them in various music mags during my time at Uni, or online over the years, but up until 2019/early 2020 or so, I never even made much of a point to seriously investigate them. I would have been a (9 or 10 year-old) grade school adolescent at the time they were recording/releasing tracks like this, which may explain why it's taken so long - though as a world-weary adult who's been through a lot in the years since then, it's definitely in my wheelhouse.
Well, they're from my time and haven't heard of them either (and I was reading a lot about music by that time!) It's strange, because that style was very popular in Spain and they were very good. I'll ask a friend of mine that was more into goth music if he knew them. If you like them try others like Magazine, Joy division, Bahuhaus and some others 80's bands (you can even try spaniards bands like Parálisis permanente, Alaska y los Pegamoides, Derribos Arias, Monagillosh and Aviador Dro.
This is amazing. UPDATE: even more interesting, I went and bought the LP and I prefer this 7" version to the album version, has more raw energy. To get this on vinyl would be awesome.
This version is apparently sped up according to the band's bassist comment on ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ryjTPIely2M.html. Having heard this one first, though, I tend to prefer it too, as such things go :).
@@drewp.weiner5065 Drew, it was CONFIRMED by the bassist that this version is sped up. Not only that, I own this 7" record as well and it isn't this fast. This is the true speed - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VM2ddPF7X2Y.html
[Lost In A Moment] I worked my feelings out I sing the words I'd like to shout And it comes as no surprise You've changed the rules again We came here starry eyed We went away dissatisfied And it comes as no surprise It comes as no surprise I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more The sun won't rearrange A passion still resisting change And I hope you realize We've both been fooled the same Your heart's an open book You're too afraid to take a look And I hope you realize Yes, I hope you realize I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more We were lost in a moment Maybe you didn't notice I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more My burning senses shout A melody too strong to doubt And it comes as no surprise You've missed the point again We came here starry eyed But now it seems those stars have died And it comes as no surprise Well, it comes as no surprise I give my thoughts to you Don't ask for more We've shared some moments But that's really all And in my heart I fear you need much more Maybe you didn't notice We've lost it all
Yes! You will notice this phenomenon only with TRUE and GOOD music. Now go find the chameleons u.k., comsat angels, wire.... etc. May a song help you find your way, every day friend
@@nacho2186 never heard of a weezer song with this much reverb on the vocals, a chorused synth, and a jangle guitar tone. Not to mention the dissonant notes. Tony molina sounds more like weezer than this
First time I watched this video it had less than 50k views and had 4 comments, now before long its going to have over a million. Glad to see good music getting recognition!
i bought this 7" last year based on the power on how excellently wrote these 2 songs. they remade them on the album, which is disappointing but it doesn't take anything from the songwriting.
This is a very emotional song, everything ended when it didn’t even begin. Been there, done that. It hurts really bad ❤️🔥💔 We were lost in a moment… maybe he didn’t even noticed 🥹
Lately I find I've been walking on tightropes They stretch through my mind in the spaces I don't know I've walked and I've fallen So many times I don't notice now Writing equations for solving the problems There's always an answer I hadn't considered Sometimes I trust blindly Knowing later I've counted wrong And the rope I touch As I'm walking in a dream Is a mystery to me And it won't take much For the nightmare that I see To become reality And the rope I touch As I'm walking in a dream Is a mystery to me And it won't take much For the nightmare that I see To become reality Mountains I find in this fragile existence I step by the side and I'm lost in the distance I've walked and I've fallen So many times I don't notice now Lately I find I've been walking on tightropes They stretch through my mind I've walked and I've fallen So many times And the rope I touch As I'm walking in a dream Is a mystery to me And it won't take much For the nightmare that I see To become reality And the rope I touch As I'm walking in a dream Is a mystery to me And it won't take much For the nightmare that I see To become reality
I think the uploader ran it at a faster speed than it was meant to it's a curse because I love this version infinitely more than the original but I can't get it anywhere
