Guess I could have said "But Zoey, minor keys have FEELING"
I play both major and minor, but I see from the views on my backing tracks, that people prefer to play on minor scales. I think you can play with feelings on major keys as well, but it's not that immediate. Minor keys are easier, you start with a bluesy feeling and you go from there. Major keys you have to invent something that perfectly fits that tune.
I play in Open Dm on this and thank you ! Little slide but this tuning is a super blues sad leads “ in your head , in your head” . I play so much better in Dm the patterns are right there for me! Thank you 12.59 and I can’t wait to play along!
I had a really good play along to this! I really like how the changes go into double time, keeping things familiar with the same chords, but making you have to speed up your thought process as the chords go by quicker!
thank you very much! yes, that is my idea. I made also some other tracks with the same 'technique', simply halving the length of the chords, to give a 'refrain-like' change, but as you said, to keep the player familiar. It's a compromise. the same progression with the same length would be easier to understand but lack the refrain chorus effect. At the same time, changing the chord progression makes things less boring, but it takes someone more time to familiarise.

I've no idea what you're referring to. Except pads or soft background instruments that wouldn't disturb a fly, I've never heard anything that could be considered a main melody on any backing track, mine or someone else's. True some backing tracks stand alone and don't need an extra melody to work as background music, but that's a different thing. Give me a link to a backing track which has a melody that somehow interferes with your playing, cause I can't find any.

Try getting inside my channel and you'll find a lot of variety. RU-vid suggests ballads and four chord tracks because they are the ones which get more views. I have over 300 tracks, try the ones with less views and different, more complicated chords.
