Nobody worships the idols in Hinduism. We worship the *ideal* behind the idol. Idol represent respectable traits, ideals and stories associated with them of divine characters that thrived despite difficulties, that we remind ourselves of again and again, revere them again and again so that we don’t lose sight of what’s good and bad.
And what's the authenticity that vedas and your other scriptures are true infact they contains many contradictions and weired rituals!!! Then how can your vedas and other scriptures are word of God if they are contradictory ???

A goldsmith’s descendants will be goldsmiths, a farmers descendants will be farmers, a teacher’s descendants be teachers , a warrior’s descendants be warriors etc. This is called varna system. Each such families will have their own traditions, culture, habits, beliefs etc. Each set of people did a particular job in a society to maintain the social fabric that was prevalent in those times. There was very less interchange of trades and crafts unlike the modern era of today’s.

One guy is imposing a single possibility ignoring everyone else and the other guy is suggesting that the possibilities are limitless while including everyone else. So it's exclusive vs inclusive membership. I prefer the latter. And you see reflections of that in Hinduism present in India where Sadhguru comes from. It's the only religion/way of life that has female dieties and thousands of gods. Sacred texts are mostly questions, arguments and debates instead of do this and that. And the good thing is, you don't have to do any thing to be Hindu nor can you convert anyone to Hindu. You can skip going to temples, discard vedas, don't read ramayana, discard caste system etc... basically do nothing or wear anything and yet you can still call yourself a Hindu. So even though Hinduism is the oldest religion/way of life it's still going on because it's quite open and non-restrictive. You can come in go out, do whatever you want...just respect the Gods, holy cow and almost every living being and you're good to go. It's quite astounding to me as to why only Hinduism being the oldest religion/way of life is the only one which has women dieties too and wherein women wrote sacred texts too. The influence is so much that Indian people call their country as Mother India (Bharat mata). It's seriously quite astounding that the oldest religion/way of life is the most open, accepting to criticism, improvising and basically secular with no single god or book but thousands of them showcasing diversity of thoughts. I mean, it has maths, medical science, astronomy in it's sacred texts too which is still being used... like invention of number system, plastic surgery,, zero etc and thousands of other things. I think the point is, your faith is your personal but the moment you try to force your faith on others ( because you strongly believe in your faith and id3a of God) that is when conflict arises. In Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism atleast we can oppose something and can question on any religious thing. We don't have to believe we can read many scripts and understand . And that's make us more humane. Even I follow mahaveer Swami , gauttam buddha and aadi shankrachary and I always talk against purana in public but my faimly and society never behaved bad for this with me. They argued me but never stopped me to argue. But it's not possible in abrahmic relegion. I'm really thankful to parmatma that I not born in conservative type of relegion
Hinduism is not a religion of commandments , it has methods to reach the ultimate liberation. It tells you to ignore god and move towards ultimate liberation, vignana bhairavi tantra has these 112 methods to reach ultimate liberation . Belief gives you a comfort zone and the journey to ultimate liberation starts out of your comfort zone

He is worshipped for his ethics morals and the way he followed Dharma. So when people worship him. He is seen as a hero an aspirational figure. Hindus consider him to be the epitome of perfect human. How he fought adversity, the mindset he had. So ideals are basically aspirational figures. Their stories have deep meanings and inspiration in them. Hindus worship Banyan tree because of it emitting largest amount of oxygen 24 *7. They worship holy basil for its medicinal qualities in Ayurveda. Basically what sustains life from smallest atom to infinite. Hindus see infinite in finite. So its like that. Hindu worship Goddess Saraswati because she represents art knowlege and wisdom, they worship goddess Laxmi because she represents wealth and prosperity. They worship goddess shakti (Kali) because she represents power and courage.

Guilt for a Christian is doing something thats not allowed in the bible. The same christian may not feel bad cursing non-jesus person who worship someone other than jesus.
