The guy one block up has a Tesla mod3 charging in his garage every night. What's the chances his Tesla will burn the place to the ground if it does have a battery charging problem? I'm planning on making enquiries to our Strata Insurer about possible implications for our premium cost.
I work at a large public hospital here in Melbourne, the B1, B2 and B3 levels are car parking only and EV twats started using the 240v cleaners outlets to charge their shitboxes, when I asked why they think it was ok to steal "fuel" from a public hospital their self righteous answers were astounding. Luckily the outlets got modified with a key-switch so now they are screwed, all we need now is a ban from them parking underground.

GM had the EV-1 Electric Vehicle in mass production in 1909. This is when ICE vehicles were the most difficult to operate. Throttle and the spark advance were levers on the steering wheel. On the right side of the dashboard was the choke and fuel mixture control. Transmissions were non-synchronized that new drivers would grind gears endlessly. If you had a car that required a flick of a switch to make it go… it should have caught on then. Surprise!! It didn’t!
Electric meters are digital.. live usage stats. If the socket is a common outlet, strata will see it immediately and it's easy to know how many EV cars are suspect thieves with CCTV. The socket needs to get a dedicated line all the way from your apartment meter. Or you need to pay for a dedicated meter with a line to your spot.

Right now, here in Arizona, U.S., it is 113 degrees F (45 degrees C) There is no way you could sit outside for hours waiting for you EV to charge. It would likely be fatal. Many people here die from the extreme heat every year. And you can't sit in the EV with the A/C on, it would use up power faster than the V is charging.

I recently visited the UK and went to London for the first time in the guts of a decade. 2 observations. There are far, far fewer cars and it has few British people, the natives are being displaced. It is no longer a British city. I was moved to check the stats. The 2021 census has it as 36% white British. Add 3 yrs and subtract EU migrants and it'll be around 30%. It seemed fewer than that to me.
I am not 100% sure but Southland did have Ev charging on every level. I think they have all now been removed and the only one is next to the car cleansing business. I assume the car cleaning business has high pressure hoses

Ya mean the cars drivetrain locked up and the tram roller behind the tire got sucked under the tire then on the other side of the tire it dropped the car quick from what you would think! Another question is, there is no neutral to where the car coast so it is effectively in drive and you are riding the brake or gas pedal to gust role slowly. If you were not paying attention and the car stopped, the roller behind the tire could drop the car only for you to gun a car in drive that can't safely be in neutral because it doesn't have it! Design flaw when it comes to getting it threw a car wash!
Many EV owners didn't own up to hating their electric vehicle for various reasons, vanity being just one of them. The real number of EV owners who desperately want to revert back to ICE vehicles is at least 60%, and will keep growing because many are recent EV owners and haven't yet had the pleasure of experiencing the full monty of what electric vehicles have to offer.
I remember thinking it would be cool to get one of the really fast EVs- My last car was a Corvette C5 that I added a supercharger to and made 685 HP. It was fast, but still.....Now I can't imagine buying an EV for ANY reason. They are inconvenient , they are heavy, they wear tires at an insane rate and last (and not least) , insurance cost is through the roof. Good job, MGuy !
There was a story about 3 months ago of a run-away EV that could not be stopped by driver in the UK. It was eventually found to be a seat sensor. The coding was so piss poor that when the sensor decided you were not sitting down anymore - the computer turned off and stopped accepting inputs like throttle, brakes, gear selector (all electric of course) - while the inverter thread just left the motor at a set point of whatever speed you were travelling at. So the poor driver just hung on for their life as the car drove itself down the road at 80km/hr while 'turned off'. So no way to physically put the car in neutral, nor any way to counter power to any 'ignition'.
In Britain the Sale of Goods Act comes to mind. So if EVs are banned from car parks, then something is drastically wrong with these products it might seem? Just as there are calls to ban electric bicycles from blocks of flats because of the fires these EVs have caused!

Oh the bait and switch in England even here in Australia EV buyer will pay to make up for the lost fuel tax as for extension cords most know councils would fine you but you have only one option which is the most expensive and time consuming wasting your time waiting/charging. Tesla stock was 144 on April 23rd and it is now 246 , a whopping 102 dollars up in just two months. Tesla beating the expectations on the delivery numbers in Q2 was the main reason. Tesla market cap is 776 billion, most for any automobile company in the world. 2) ICE car maker Toyota’s stock dropped below 200 before closing over 200. Toyota has dropped from 255 to 200. Toyota market cap is 340 billion, but they also have a long term debt of 230 billion dollars. Their ICE car sales have dropped drastically, but their hybrid car has been helping them keep afloat. 3) Mercedes investment of €19 billion on ICE engines has been criticized by many in the industry. With iCE car sales dwindling every year, people are questioning if it is a good investment. ICE cars have peaked in 2017 at 95 million down and has been steadily declining. Last year worldwide ICE car sales were only 70 million, that is a whopping 25 million cars down 6 years. 4) For the first half of this year EVs and PHEVs accounted for more than 50% of the sales with ICE and hybrid below 50%. China as a single country accounting for 35% of worldwide car sales, it is a big blow for ICE vehicles’ future.Just pure BEvs is estimated to be 17-18 million sales in 2024. 5) Last year Malaysia stopped the subsidy given for fossil fuel companies for fuel consumption. This was a subsidy given to keep prices of petrol and diesel down artificially. Now the fuel prices have gone up 60%. Similarly, in Australia, the government is giving 11.6 billion dollars of tax payers money to fossil fuel companies to keep the prices of fuel down artificially. If this useless subsidy is taken out, fuel prices in Australia will go up at least one dollar, and that is the real price of fuel. Government is favoring fossil fuels. I'm sorry, but my new ev mx bike has 80hp and instant torque straight from factory. A worked honda cr500 only has 60hp and you have to rev it to get going. Lol😅. So I will be keeping my ev bike and embarrassing petrol bikes. It makes me look like a super hero and old fashioned petrol bikes look like snails. Which they are.
About time the EVs are charged for the congestion! It is a certainty that the new Labour government will put a road tax on the EVs, why should they not pay like the rest of us for using the roads. As they cannot charge by emissions, they will probably go by vehicle weight, same as lorries/truck's. That will hurt when the EV is carrying a 500 Kg battery. 😂 If all cars are done by weight, the modern, as light as we can make it, ICE oweners will be happy. 😀
To be fair, the car wash crash wasn't an EV problem, but a car design problem and more of a highlight of the idiocy of all these nanny controls being put inside cars. Lane "assist", cameras everywhere, "emergency" braking, etc ad nauseum... all because so many people no longer pay attention to driving. They're talking, texting, watching movies, eating, and so on and don't pay attention to the road and the cars and items on it. "Nanny State, protect me from myself!!!"
As a previous owner of a model 3, I confirm recharging is a total pain and waste of your time. I bought a used 318i BMW for days when I had to go more than 300kms so I didn't waste hours at charging stations. I sold the model 3 after 12mths and will wait till they have a range of ~500kms and safer batteries, before buying another.
Where's the logic in applying brakes when you tip a seat forward or lift a seat? It appears that there are now so many "extra" ways to disable a car. Seat belt. Door ajar. Headlights not working. Dead battery in keyringfob. And now, lift/tilt a seat. In classic cars, you do everything you can to keep them running- even after airbag deployment!

This charge at home for free if you have solar panels on your roof is a load of BS. I have 20 panel on my roof, but this is the UK, on that rare sunny day we get I get 25 kwh from the panels. But yesterday 3rd July it was just a normal UK day and I got 10.4 Kwh. That's just not enough power for a car, and what about if I go anywhere, I need to get back home, and would have to pay the silly rates to charge away from home. But the money I get from feeding power to the grid pays for loads of fuel for my ICE cars, that's the best way to do it. So my point is charging EVs at home from solar is not free, you have lost the money you get from feeding power to the grid. So many EV owners just can't understand this, they must be stupid, but that is also why they have a EV.
They tried cars running on compressed air in the past. That could be the next good idea. No toxic batteries. No dangers of burning alive. And the "fuel" is everywhere around us. "Just" have to make it liquid. This idea would be a better one than EV's.
