After 2 days in Chichester Marina we took Enigma to Emsworth, at the north-western corner of Chichester harbour. A shortish journey of around 9 nautical miles but a great way to explore the harbour and visit new destinations.
Hi Tim. I love the Sadler. It's well designed, safe, comfortable, seaworthy. I think it would be fine for a long solo passage and there are are lots of owners taking them around Britain and further afield. Most folks who go offshore (check out Sam Holmes, Christian Williams, Erik Aanderaa etc) seem to use boats 30ft or longer - and I suspect in open water they are probably more comfortable and perform better in bigger waves and stronger winds. So I think the 26 is perfectly capable but if I was buying a boat for that type of adventure I might be looking at a Sadler 29 or something around the 30-32ft range.
