We wanted to make note of the Single Coil pickups in the new SMX Basses. If you would like to see any other videos showing examples of the pickups please let us know!
I second this! Most reviews are done with DI or thru consoles, which gives you that "stereo"effect we all love, but is not the real amp ambience sound.
True. However, that will only get rid of the noise when not playing. The noise will still be present when playing, however it is so low in the noisefloor it isn't noticed while playing.
Quite different concept than noise cancelling headphones. The Hum-Cancelling pickups essentially work like a humbucker where there are two equal sized voice coils cancelling the noise out. They sound great, but don't sound exactly the same as a true single coil pickup. The Stacked Hum-Cancelling pickups are closer to the sound of a true single coil pickup.
I definitely get that! The "Stacked" Hum-Cancelling pickups sound very close to a traditional single coil pickup. They are definitely worth checking out!
True, they have value in practical terms, but it's a trade off usually. That's a punchy preamp though and probably makes up for any loss in tone or response. A Sadowsky is not trying to be a vintage Fender Jazz Bass anyway.@@fretnation
