@@erikdejong4509 there are styles within, some call this muay femur, aka "smart feints". Mainly choosing a particular style comes to choosing a camp to train/live in. Something like schools in old Japan (dojo).
most thai sparring is like that, can practice way longer if you spar light, and those guys fight every week and can't be getting banged up too bad; it's like playing tag
@@iLikeToHitThings Exactly... I remember back when I joined my first Kickboxing gym, there were 2 guys who were avoided by everyone... I sparred with them and ended getting knocked out 3 times in one day. I didnt know the code of sparring, now I would avoid anyone who spars like a nut.
@@b8-quilantangfranznico577 question mark kick is a front kick faint to round house it's called a question mark kick because it moves in the path of a question mark
Alot of people i see training muay thai lack good footwork They are very grounded and Sanchai is the master of taking advantage of the loop holes in his own martial art
Amazing, even against all these bigger opponents with longer reach, his ability to remain out of reach and close the distance in an instant is just pure GrandMaster Class
Funny because even in demonstration, he is just fucking you up and if you try to go a little harder as payback for just been swept, then it's just going to piss him off and he is going to go to town on you. So you are basically just going to smile and take the gentle beating he is going to give you and be damn grateful for it. :-D
You're not wrong at all, but I really liked how he matched the level of the people he sparred. Some of the people he's against in this vid are obviously worse than others, and he paces himself to them, which is excellent. If he just went off on them, they won't learn anything, they'll be too busy trying to figure out what just happened!
Crazy the amount of control he has at that speed to just barely slap the students with his strike. The dexterity in his legs is so admirable. It’s almost mesmerizing to watch him kick
some people say he's going harder than the other guys and that why he looks good. I say its the opposite he's just playing with them while they try with all their capacity to understand whats going on
he should teach teachers how to teach what they teach to those they are teaching. Saenchai is like teacher goals, he doesnt take it serious he teaches in a encouraging blissful manner
2:07 isnt impressive because he landed, but because he landed it without hurting the other guy! he just clowned that whole round, too much fun to watch!
i don't understand the fascination with that thing. Technically, it's not even legal under the vast majority of kickboxing AND Muay Thai rules, but no one ever says anything for soem reason.
to me it is impressive because that mive has so much natural momentum that to be accurate with it so it hits the head but also controlled enough that it doesnt hurt the other person takes a lot of skill. or it looks like it does to me. i dont even mess with that cartwheel kind of shit lol i just stick with the basics. i didnt know it was illegal. is it a banned move or does it break some other rule like the hand touching the ground or what?
the second one you said, if a fighter touches the ground with a glove or knee or basically anything that isn't the feet, he's considered on the ground (either by slip or knockdown) and the fight is supposed to be halted. I would very well hope they wouldn't let him do that if it was explicitly banned, that'd be absurd, but even as it is now it's weird. What if he KOs someone with it and the guy issues a formal complaint? Btw, he has actually KO'd several people in sparring with this very move, which isn't exactly a nice thing to do.
not sure what your point is Stone High. We all know he's used it. That's not the discussione, the discussion is whether he should be doing it when it's not actually legal under most competition rules; certainly not under muay thai rules, you can find an article from Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu which mensions this, and she's probably the most knowledgable in the west of actual thai rules, both written and unwritten. However you might say that depending on the particular kickboxing league rules wording, it may be a grey area (like GLORY rules).
Fantastic to see the true Thai spirit of 'Sanuk' or fun in Saenchai's sparring, you can see how much he really loves and enjoys it yet controls his aggression perfectly. These guys from Isaan are literally fighting for their lives as there is only dust and rice in the provinces of Northern Thailand,I love the people there as they are so genuine and kind/big hearted (jai dii!) Ajarn Saenchai is incredibly fast even now a little older,he strikes like a snake (ngoo) how fast must he have been in his younger days no disrespect meant at all? I've lived in Udon Thani,Isaan and Chiang Mai,North Western Thailand the real Thailand and just watching this makes me miss that place like crazy,Thai food is the best in the World aroy mak thii sut (in Thai) or as Saenchai would say sep lai lai dur (in Lao)!
The way he throws a leg/body kick then feints pulling his leg back, only to rechamber it for a push kick is fucking beautiful and I'm going to start practicing it right now.
I love seminars. My gym featured one with Fabio Pinca about a year ago and it was an absolute blast. We'd love to have Saenchai come to NYC and show us some tricks.
This vid just makes me smile! Love the control and the Sportmanship and respect that is being demonstrated....great to see.....Though the title is misleading, this is Not sparring wars by any stretch of imagination
What a Martial artist unreal how relax and fluid he move. One of the "BEST" Muay Thai fighter of all time and yet so nice and humble. Always enjoy watching him fights.
I should show this video to some of the guys in my class. Sparring"is supposed to be lighthearted and fun with a focus on improving skills, not "I had a bad day so let me take it all out on the guy in front of me."
It depends on skill level too I think. The other guys haven't mastered their stance and techniques enough to throw them while totally relaxed like Saenchai does. So they end up really stiff and telegraphing their kicks that Saenchai can read a mile away. The last guy had better skill and control so he was able to relax and just play lightly with Saenchai.
GOOD GOD my man is taking is toying with everyone just like in the ring. Honestly it's awe inspiring to see him do anything, in the future id like to see more people like him
Love the video, Saenchai just clicks with the reason why I love this sport, he's real femur, and the arsenal of the moves he pulls out is incredible, they don't teach it anywhere.
These NEVER get old. Lmao! He’s still doing the same thing in 2022. 🔥 Even when a dude is over a foot taller than him and outweighs him by 100lbs+ it’s always: “I wonder how and when Saenchai is gonna sweep and humble this guy?” 🤷♂️😂🙏
someone should make a game called "Saenchais Kick Out" and everytime he's about to do his special attack it's whatever he yells before a question mark kick and then the kick
I imagine it must be great for Saenchai. He's retired but revered and welcomed across the globe. He probably makes a decent living and gets to do what he loves every day among people who think he walks in water.
Me and brothers use to go harder than this, but having a chance to play spar with a champion would be a life time of story telling to everyone who wants to know about him
Thats the type of person you want to spar , if you look closley he never tries to hurt them. He never attacks the ribs or chops the legs , but he does make you pay for any mistakes you make. A true fighter.
¡¡¡¡ SAENCHAI !!!! EXTREAMLY MODEST AND INTELIGENT PERSONALITY, dont need to mention skills and titles.. THE GREATEST FIGHTER EVER, REGARDLESS OF SPORT !!!!!!!! I hope that thanks to fighters like this and absolute SPORTSMASHIP BEHAVIOUR and SUPREMACY OF SKILLS and ART, MUAY THAI CAN BECOME EVEN MORE APRICIATED ¡¡¡¡ GREAT REGARDS, MUAY THAI 4LIFE !!!!
