Since than I cannot drink more than one weak tea a day, because I'm getting nervous shivers, but now I'm so sleepy and unproductive... So I tried to vape and look how it's gonna work and I have to say, for me it works bonkers. I'm focused as hell, at least for my standards and go through a normal working day without problems and than I have even energy to excercise, which is amazing. But I don't want to damage my loungs in the long run, so I'm gonna try a nicotine gum up tommorow and see if it also works. That's why I'm here, to find out if you get the same kind o buzz from a nicotine in a gum. @@wlaba272 I've never smoked or vaped. 5 years ago I decided to try nicorette mini lossanges to help me do low carb and stay off sugar. I started small, with half a lossange only when I craved sugar. It definitely helped and I felt great for a while, but 5 years later I'm using about 20 a day and feel horrible. Tired all the time, never feel rested even with a good night if sleep, etc. I am SO sorry I ever started. Please be careful, and really think twice about starting this powerful, but legal, drug. That's all I can say. I'm watching videos tonight to get my motivation going to stop. Yes it felt great for about the first year or two, but I have constant anxiety that has been getting far worse the past two years. And there is really no other cause so I know it's the nicorette. I was in great shape 5 years ago. P90x. Flying all over the country for work, etc. Now I get panic attacks just driving 15 minutes from home. Nicotine releases adrenaline as well as dopamine so it actually wears down your stress response capabilities. Best of luck and hope this helps you or anyone else reading this.

Been a smoker for over 10 years and decided to use the gum to stop. I popped a 4gm piece of gum and about 30 minutes into it I realized the dosage was too much. Those things are strong, don't underestimate them. I decided it would be best to bite into a piece to split the dosage into two and would only have 1 whole piece of gum, 4mg, throughout the entire day. I also decided I would try to quit completely during my first gum pack (20 pieces) because extending the gum usage would be too risky. Only 12 days free of smoke and 5 days free of nicotine gum, but I'm holding on strong. People should not consume any form of nicotine recreationally as it is extremely addictive. Nicotine gum is so strong that I have chosen not to even finish the whole box of 20 pieces, I still have about 6 pieces left...

Literally danced around the question. So here it is, I'll answer it since they proved to be political about it. Nicotine gum is way safer for you that cigarettes! Sure it's a stimulate but who doesn't have at least 1? Getting off cigarettes and on nicotine gum is definitely the right decision. I've known people who have chewed nicotine gum for years and are perfectly fine. This segment irritated me alot with them all trying to impress eachother so none of them answered the damn question. The chemical nicotine itself is dangerous in large amounts but in very small amounts it's no more dangerous than caffeine but it is addictive but the same can be said for caffeine ...... Although the addictive part is the nicotine but that alone is not a problem. If so then doctors should talk about sugar and salt the white poisons that are worse than Nicotine/Caffeine

Substituting one addiction for another is not always a bad thing. I have quit smoking. I am over 4 months smoke free but i am still chewing nicotine gum. Ok i have swap my addiction to smoking for the gum but the gum is far less harmful. Nicotine is not what is really harming you when you smoke. It all the other chemicals your taking in to get that nicotine. Swapping one addiction for another is a good thing if the addiction you are going too is less harmful then the original addiction.

Quit smoking with nicotine toothpicks. Found that I was able to use the toothpicks in moderation after 2-3 weeks, even did a two day reset with zero nicotine. It seems the maois in tobacco paired with the nicotine & ammonia is the culprit in the insidious addiction, not nicotine in and of itself, which to me is as addictive as coffee/caffeine. I pair a cup of black tea with 3mg of nicotine for getting the gears going in the morning (great nootropic). It does not disrupt sleep at this amount. The effects of the nicotine are gone in one to two hours, meaning your blood flow is normal 90%+ of the time. Nicotine in this moderate amount can help prevent colon cancer and dementia without any negative health effects.

I think people don’t need to worry. Addiction happens to the best of us, and addiction isn’t even that bad compared to the mouth cancers and lung cancers associated with smoking tobacco. I use zyns, and I use them everyday, and I don’t know if the addiction is that negative but then again it could just be a fact i’m dependent not particularly addicted because if it really came down to it i would go without it if needed. This society likes to frown on nicotine use, but nicotine use can be beneficial, but the biggest problem with nicotine alone is the fact it’s highly addictive, as well as toxic if you consume a monster dose and don’t have a tolerance

I honestly can't take anyone's opinion (even a doctors) of addiction seriously unless they have experienced it first hand. It's easy to say "well it's all nicotine you should just never do it" but if you're trying to quit smoking or vaping, both which have adverse affects outside of the nicotine itself, then you should not fear being judged by people who frankly don't get it.

nicotine is not addictive. i've smoke cigarettes and gotten addicted to those for a few years. quitting was very difficult and the addiction is very strong. fast forward 20 years and now i smoke cigars. i can smoke a few cigars in a day for months. i can stop for a month and feel ZERO addiction. i came to the conclusion that the additives in the cigarettes get you addicted, not the nicotine itself. I looked into it, and my research surprisingly came to the same conclusion.
