Someone pointed out the rogues' weapons were poisoned (you can see the poison when Saurfang is blocking his attacks) and they didn't do shit to Saurfang's armor. However they might've been pretty deadly if they got a hit on Thrall who has no armor. Take for example Cairne, who lost the duel to Garrosh because of poison and died.
After watching it a couple times, you can see Saurfang follow the 2 paths through the field at the beginning made by the assassins, the wheat falling apart because of the poison they touched it with walking by. Saurfang making sure Thrall's family is not there. And I loved the green plumes of poison in the air as Saurfang fought the first one. Then Thrall grabbing what I think is Duratan's axe he's hidden, little details in this cinematic are awesome.

This is how warrior deal with rogues xD Proud to be a Warrior! Why? Because you hit things in the face with chunks of metal. Oh, sure, paladins do that, but they have the light to protect them. You have a chunk of metal strapped to your arm. When a DK wants to start a fight, he selectively pulls someone from far away into melee range with him. You? You charge in and slap it in the face with a chunk of metal. When a Druid wants to self-heal, it casts a spell. When you want to self heal, you kill something and get so excited about it that when you attack the next thing, slapping it with a chunk of metal causes your wounds to close. When a rogue wants to kill a god, it sneaks up and stabs it in the back. When you want to kill a god, you leap fourty freaking yards so you can start smacking the god around with chunks of metal. 0You don't have magic or energy or runes or chi, you just have the sheer power of how pissed off you are. When people need to be inspired, you shout at them until they feel stronger. When a warlock wants to scare someone, he works dark magic. You? You scream so loud everyone runs like a little bitch. When a mage wants to interrupt someone from casting a spell, they throw their own magic to prevent it. You slap him in the face so hard he forgets what magic is."
Always look forward to your reactions! Having mixed reactions about this cinematic because unfortunately I know what it means for the Horde storyline. Either way, excited to see Thrall back, I want my pre-Cata boy back.
Things get real when Sylvanas or Blightcaller sics the assassins to go after Thrall. Hallmark of a real tyrant, eliminate all threats to your power, including former leaders.

His powers left him, he's returned to being a warrior, like he was as a slave to Blackthorne. Yeah, thrall with no beard and a bald head was so weird. Especially after all the years of playing WC3, and coming to WoW during Cata.

I mean, look at who the rogues are going after? Can't blame them for getting owned, especially with Saurfang already knowing they're stalking the area.
I'm not really sure I believe in Blizzard anymore. But if I did, I would say the way the story is going is that the Horde and Alliance will splinter into a total of FOUR factions - the Peaceful Alliance (Anduin), the Warmongering Alliance (Tyrande), the Honorable Horde (Saurfang), and the Treacherous Horde (Sylvanas), and majorly shake up the status quo of the game. Prolly just Garrosh 2.0 tho.
I love the cinematic, the quality is without flaws in my opinion, but when you start thinking about continuity, this is kind of silly from a tactics perspective. As powerful as Thrall has proven to be, why the hell would Sylvanas send the obvious "B" team, and not her "A" team to take him out, especially if she was aware that Saurfang would probably be trying to recruit him? Wouldn't the possibility of Saurfang interfering being rather high, and his last encounter with Sylvanas forces, Saurfang whooped an entire squad of dark rangers. The whole reason she would want Thrall taken out, is to keep him from joining her opposition forming within the Horde. So all those reasons for wanting Thrall dead, and she sends 2 squishy ass rogues? Come on writing department ... try again. Hell, Sylvanas sent an entire squad of her best dark rangers to take Saurfang in the swamp ... and they died. Why would she think only 2 rogues could handle Thrall? Which makes her a worse tactician then I thought, and that is not her character. Would have made more sense to send some Death Knights, and the rogues for back up, or ... maybe I'm looking at this all wrong, perhaps the rogues were new, and as a joke, Sylvanas, sent them on a "training exercise"? That's got to be it, this is really about Sylvanas's sense of humor, it was her April fools joke on those noobs. Again, the cinematic itself, is fabulous. It's just from the story perspective, it's coming up short.
I had the same feeling. amazing stuff from the art dept. as always from Blizz. but this Alliance girl has made her way to FF14 and I am looking forward to Shadowbringers. I'm toying with the idea of classic wow.

Typical Blizzard cinematic.. So awesome that they make you feel you want to part of that world and the story but when you enter the game you get nothing but monotonous and brainless grind.
The cinematic is stunning and brings up great feelings and memories. Unfortunately (for me), those feelings don't resonate if I log into the game. I haven't played since capping in BFA but not even this stunning artistry can convince me to go back.
