Excellent video indeed. Very informative and will be useful for Navigating officers. Just two errors would like to point out and may be corrected over time, 1. Between 09:33 to 09:40 the navigation lights shown for the anchored vessels in the transshipment area are incorrect. The navigation lights shown are for vessels underway and not at anchor. 2. Between 16:14 to 16:36 while vessel arriving at Eastern boarding ground "B" to pick up pilot, vessel approaching pilot boarding ground is simulated to cross ahead of West bound vessel in opposite traffic lane. Such manoeuvre to cross ahead of the vessel should be avoided. a. Vessels's speed reduces considerably when course alteration of 90 degrees is involved. In vie same if east bound vessel alters course in order to cross the lane, vessel's speed for example will drop suddenly from 10 knots on north easterly heading to 5 knots on north westerly heading. Moreover vessel will not be able to pick up speed rapidly hereon. Therefore such manouver will cause more risk with respect to assessment by on coming west bound vessel. b. in restricted visibility or during ours of darkness such manouver can cause more concerns. Preferably vessel should have shown to be crossing stern of west bound vessel after west bound vessel is clear. or There should be comment made regarding possible risk arising out of sudden reduction in vessel's speed.
