Love ur vids man. You’ve taught me so much rlly helpful info for my reptiles! Also I’d recommend making sure the wood is completely dry before putting it in the oven to reduce risk. Also make sure that there isn’t water in any crevices in the wood
@@ChiefSweetsUniverseI have a Sahara Uromastyx and I want some more Hardscape in the enclosure, I plan on using this method also can I do the same thing for rocks?
Thanks for this video. What about wood or driftwood you find along a beach an actual beach where there's an ocean (I live on the West Coast). I was told that would be safe but I have sprayed it down with reptile safe spray/detergent just in case.
hey man, would an 80W mercury vapor lamp be enough for a uro uvb wise ? i saw a man have a 160W of the same brand and it scored 12.7 on the solar meter. so do you think an 80W do the trick?
@@ChiefSweetsUniversethank you for replying! but isn't it just logical , if a 160Wgives 12.7 an 80W will give like 6.5 at least, right? you're an expert i can't find anyone better than you to ask
@@M-ud9vs mine gave out 3.0 around 6 inches away which is pretty low compared to a Arcadia 12% but they are supposed to give out way more than that so idk if mine just was weak. I would go Arcadia 12% over mvb
@ChiefSweetsUniverse I mean it's a real woody, earthy smell. I got told it's either oak or maple. It's been sitting out in the sun a time now. But I cleaned it with boiling water and baked it. It smells stronger when I mist the enclosure.
@@thech1v07 hmm could just be the wood then. I never had that experience with my oak branches. But as long as your crested gecko isn’t running away from it and is normal you should be good
