I'm so glad I switched to Fedora on my newer daily driver PC almost 2 years ago. I also have an old Win 10 PC that I keep some VERY old games on it- I secure it by keeping it unplugged from the internet 99.999% of the time.

Yes I have heard about this and I think it's shocking. Not only are Microsoft going to put this Recall tool in Windows 11. They are blocking software such as Classic Shell and other software that brings back the Windows 7 start menu. Yet many Windows users just put up with it. People should boycott Windows and not use it again. There is no reason to when we have so many alternatives. Linux being the best one as it is widely used and most supported. Linux Mint, Zorin OS or Ubuntu and their spins are good ones for new users to start with.

I'm reminded of "system restore," which ate up drive space and other resources. I don't want all that activity using up my SSD. Thankfully I evicted "windows" back in January of 2009. Life on Debian is a whole lot better.

Windows 11 is not the product, YOU (and your data) is the product.

"oh its entirely on your own system". For now. How long before it isnt? How long before they start silently scraping data out of your history to sell on to advertisers? They are not investing the time, money and resources into Recall without plans to leverage it for their own gain. Linux needs less and less marketing as time goes on. Micro$oft is doing all the work for them with every new invasive move they make.

Don't use Windows. They pushed to Linux after Windows 10.
