Ubuntu Sway remix is my fav distro, but its config settings are quite discombobulating. I couldn't wrap my head around around it so I used to make changes directly in the /etc/sway/mode/default.config. Your way of organizing the config is very intuitive. Many thanks for doing this tutorial.
I first time to see this kind of PC, great machine and it's suitable for personal server because of limited to CPU core count. that's a good review I have seen...
I never could get the asus-nvidia image to install with secure boot enabled 😢 I’m looking more towards creating a custom iso using their baseline template.
@@oglothenerd no sir... It's char... I've been eating it decades I've got no carcinogens. I've even smoked cigarettes for 26 years... Btw I'm going to pm you in discord about your tool you've made..
@@f23948 it it's using xorg then yes in it's compositor you be able to use it especially if it using picom.. now if it's using Wayland as if it's latest version, then it should be, well then you don't have to as Wayland enabled it by default..
Nice. New-ish to Linux. I tried a Red Hat back in like '03 and honestly don't even think I got a GUI. Recently Windows been so P*#$$n me off by either takin control away, hiding it away or the worst...just trying to assume it knows what I want and attempting to do it for me. I will do X when I want to do X thanks very much. Anyway so happy I've finally jumped in. Main gaming rig will stay Win11 for now, direct X and driver support and just gaming in general is just kinda Windows for now. Though I will say I've a sorta gaming laptop that's honestly able to run everything I've tried yet through Steam Proton or Heroic but I'm still experimenting. All that said I've become a fiend for trying out all the distros, I love that this is a thing. Much to learn. Sudo Kudos, thanks for vid!
Thank you ...fair warning some of my older videos are in my eyes...not good . You definitely see my production growth.... It's been a fun journey along the way...
@@thelinuxtube NP. I am definitely NOT one of those who critisize video/sound quality of free videos made by someone in their spare time who was kind enough to make them and spend the time uploading them...for free :-) RU-vid IMO should remain this very thing as that was it's essence, not some corporate over-produced talking heads wearing makeup with entire production staff. Though those are good to, just not at the expense of the other. All good, I can gain knowledge by listening to information of one who knows more then I on a subject all the same. Thanks.
@@DoublePlus-Ungood thanks... If you are seeking more knowledge of course I'd suggest also joining our discord...you can ask questions in there and get help really quickly... The link in in the newer video descriptions. .
I volunteer at my local PC store, and I saw one of these things being sold for $1500, with spectacular specs too, but the case and hard drive caddies were missing and it only came with one 2TB 7200RPM 3.5" Hard Drive. I'm just stunned that someone actually bought it despite it's condition.
Nice find! This got me thinking.. there has been very little talk about oracle Linux, usually you hear about Rocky or Alma. I’m on Rocky myself as my daily OS (which is very good). Could you review Oracle Linux at some point?
Thank you for the video bro if you know how to update to v4 please make a tutorial i tried but struggling getting errors 😢😢😢 also sudo akshara update doesnt work
@@thelinuxtube thank you , i might be going to nix now lol or back to endeavour os hyrpland depending on how blend comes along..i tried updating to v4 didnt work and editing the yaml file which works but doesnt actually apply and sudo akshara update just doesnt work..i really want to use a system where i can have all my packages setup of my choosing distro hopped so many times manually setting up all my apps and things is just tiring. Hence why i want a declarative system.blend seemed perfect now not so sure...also if blend had WM support of full disk encryption support too..but yeahhh please help lol i still have blend installed on my main system🥹
@thelinuxtube You can use the noise normalizer tool that will take your audio and boost it closer to 0db, I normally boost to about -2db to prevent clipping.
Like on Debian style linux there is Nala that is a great alternatie to apt-get, apparently its also availible for enhancing Zipper on OpenSuse, worth a try.
@@thelinuxtube I get that part my friend, what I mean is you can install Gentoo to a full desktop with the official way in around 5 minutes so I don't understand while you were trying push this on speed rather than "ease". You see what I mean now?
Are you newer to Linux or been using it awhile now ..have u looked at Aurora.. I recently did s video on. .that universal Blue eco system has a specific distro called bazzite already setup for gaming..
Like Zorin OS, Rosa look very interesting. However, we are looking for something that can run third party software of Windows do to their lack of Linux versions. Do you know which Linux distro will work and how to make windows third party software to work on it?
What exact third party apps.. some will work using wine or bottles a compatibility layer.. and there are some cross platform apps that will work as well it's just that you have to unlearn the messy way windows does it . If it's office none does it the way office does exactly.. they open office get close and there are tons of tutorials on YT to get you very very very close to what you are used to..
@@thelinuxtube "What exact third party apps...". Not apps but Windows third party software. For video- Magix Vegas. Davinci Resolve. For Audio- Sibelus. Cakewalk by Bandlab. If those will work on Linux flawlessly, It is "bye bye Windows". Thanks for the discord server suggestion. but we already had a 13 years experienced guy attacking us and using the "F" word for saying we want to use windows software on Linux. So we hesitate to do so. people would take it more seriously and respect if it will come from a true master like you will present it.
@@laylasmart Davin I resolve works in Linux asking as you have a Nvidia GPU, as for DAW we have quite a few like on Ubuntu there is Studio One from presonus. Reaper is available, Ardour also along with Carla as a patchbay that allows you add tons of stuff. A good RU-vidr that's does a lot of Music Production in the Linux space is Unfa...check him out...
I hate what windows does to key log and screenshot your sh** every second was one of the major reasons why I got into linux. I also didn't want to pay for it and during my teens I liked pirating movies, music and being productive with open office including office libre.
I switched after they made everyone use 98, and it was definitely awkard but somehow I managed to keep using it. I tried ubuntu, xandros, mint, freespire, enterprise, my favorite distros will always be elementary os and q4os linux.
I have given up my Linux journey, i just need something that works, so i was trying to play Xdefiant, and was getting slaughtered so i thought okay im older now my reflexes are slower that's okay i have a full library of games, i installed endeavor OS which is a great OS, and steam and went to fire up Farcry 3, well it didn't work. i hate it when things don't just work. so despite how far Linux has come, its still not there. possibly never will be. For basic every day stuff, yeah no issue, for gaming, hell no i don't want to fluff around with protons and wines and god knows what else.
Well I'm not a huge gamer at all.. I'll admit it, but all the games I play do work . Never tried Far Cry...as for fluffing around with proton, well that's the only way that most games play on Linux. It's built right into Steam . To Fluff around with it it's,easy to do.. all you do is go ProtonDb which is a website that you simply look up you game and people will tell you what proton version to use and any launch commands you may want to use for the game, then you simply go to the steam library and in the steam game settings just apply that info for your specific game... And enjoy your game play..
Liya looks very nice. Might try it on a real HW. I love the Calamares installer. Just tried installing Bazzite on a system with two disks. It broke mid-install three bloody times. Anaconda needs to die in a fire.
"oh its entirely on your own system". For now. How long before it isnt? How long before they start silently scraping data out of your history to sell on to advertisers? They are not investing the time, money and resources into Recall without plans to leverage it for their own gain. Linux needs less and less marketing as time goes on. Micro$oft is doing all the work for them with every new invasive move they make.
Andriod is basically Linux like the base version of android I think what you meen is the stuff Samsung and google do to android but yeah android is fully open sauce and there’s a lot you can do with it because of that
It doesn't cost very much believe it or not! Laptop can be found for $30 on eBay.. Buy SSD for $30, get the monitors for $80-90 new each, or go on Facebook marketplace and find them less than $50 a pop. The mic is a SM58, budget, but extremely nice sounding, microphone, which is about $100 new. But used.. WAY cheaper. You WILL want an audio interface, which you can get the one i have for about $100, or get an older one used on facebook marketplace. Arms are worth buying new for about $20. And the dock was $30 on amazon refurbished. So no, it doesn't cost a fortune! Just buy one piece at a time and don't be scared to buy used! Make sure to look around! Although, a nicer laptop might be helpful lol. We would love to have you join our community down in the description, as we talk about these kind of deals often! ~Sprungles
I used to be a support engineer at Veeam Software. I'm very well versed in virtualization technologies. Nobody talks about QEMU/KVM__Virt-Manger but it is far superior than Virtual Box and VMware Workstation. KVM is a type 1 hypervisor and is far superior than any type 2 hypervisor. They're not even in the same league as a type 1. Virt-manager is Classic Coke and all the other guys are just some cheap knock off "colas". Grade School T-Ball vs the NY Yankees. Not even a comparison
I'm reminded of "system restore," which ate up drive space and other resources. I don't want all that activity using up my SSD. Thankfully I evicted "windows" back in January of 2009. Life on Debian is a whole lot better.
