Uyo is the capital city of Akwa Ibom in South South Nigeria. Ibibio is the language spoken in Uyo.
It became the capital on September 23, 1987 when Akwa Ibom was created from the former Cross River State. According to the 2006 Nigerian Census, the population of Uyo (Including Itu) is 427,873, while the greater urban area, including Uruan, has a population of 554,906.

That's actually an opportunity. It means you can actually create jobs and be a proud business owner. Even in Lagos, not everyone does 9-5 jobs with tie and suit. A good chunk of the youths there are artisans of various professions and they are earning income. So you can also do the same if you do not immediately get a white collar job in Uyo

Nice video. I enjoyed your contents on Uyo city. Akwa Ibom State over the years has improved on infrastructural development. Much more is expected of them on continued infrastructural development and maintenance. They also need to pay attention to other sectors. I hope open trading, roadsides selling and street trading is prohibited and banned? The culture of unauthorised markets and street trading is really causing so much harm to a lot of state governments' efforts on already built infrastructures in the country. Stringent laws should be put in place to guide against the highlighted issues by the authorities.

There are no land in Uyo.. a small land If you fins one and if the city approves you to build may cost you 10 to 40million naira. Just 10 years ago.. that same land was a mere 4million.

The government of akwa ibom state is doing well in that regard, flooding is a thing of the past there, despite being a coastal state, every other states were flooding last year but akwa ibom didn't experience that, Aks is blessed with visionary leaders, i pray they continue to grow in that direction.

Which wealths the state stolen money that was made to build infrastructures, hospitals, good educational systems, portable waters and all the social amenities just like the western world, it is not matter of showing private residence of the thieves politicians that matters, the governor suppose to beautiful the state with a good infrastructures and the citizens with towers building housings, I have traveled to so many continent in the world, africans continent is still very poor come to infrastructures and a healthy lives for all.
