They followed the rules this time, but people are still mad. Yes there could've been racing, but they picked up george instead of Max so they had to wait. Also had problems with Ric's car where something was wrong with the gear making it hard. Some people saying red flag. It would've been fun and better to have racing in the end, but these were not the conditions for a red flag to be called out.
@Jens C It still controversial finish, not because it was finished under safety car but FIA and marshal are way too slow to clear the car, not to mention since there is not crash or debris on the track and the remaining laps should be more than enough to clear the track, this what makes it controversial. Just because FIA followed rules doesn't mean they are doing good in this race, they are still responsible for causing the race ended with safety car.
albono had appendicitus, de vries is the williams reserve driver. danny ric's car got stuck in neutral so removing it from the track took too long to get racing again. it sucks, but it happens.
It was stuck in gear 4. When he was driving, everything shut suddenly. Thats why it was not moving after he stopped. Daniel mentioned this in his post race interview.
a small correction: De Vries is not a reserve driver for Williams, but for Mercedes. Therefor he had no prior knowledge of the exact workings of the Williams car or their steering wheel. But as he was available when Williams needed him, he came to their rescue.
Daniels car was stuck in gear so it took some extra time to get the car off the track. And also the backmarkers had to been let through aswell which would have taken an extra lap, so thats why it finished behind the SC
I'm glad Max won this. Guy started from P7 and still managed to create a 17 second lead. Fully deserved. It was also a nice middle finger to the Italian crowd that treated him horribly this weekend.
The majority of the "Italian" crowd (Italian in quotations because not all tifosi are Italian and its still an internationally visited race) treated him with respect all weekend, such as myself, but thanks for presuming the worst of us based off of the 30% of us that booed like pigs. But they don't represent the true tifosi.
@@elianioriofarrell When the booing is so loud that they have to mute it on TV it means it was a large part of the crowd and obviously I'm going to view it as the 'Italian crowd'. Of course I know that not every one of you are like that.
@@rosek7114 but it was still a minority of the crowd, it was definitely way less than half, but a minority of 200,000 is still loud af when booing. But I'm glad you know we're not all like that, because I've got abuse from many Max fans who say i should be ashamed of myself and to stop watching the sport, just because I support the same team as the disgusting people who booed.
@@elianioriofarrell I'm sorry you're getting those kind of comments. That's not okay either. For me personally I was just very disappointed to see the amount of hate thrown Max's way when Charles was treated very respectfully in Zandvoort (I was at that GP). I just don't understand it considering how respectful the rivalry between Max and Charles has been. I mean, I was expecting the booing at Silverstone, but not the things that happened at Monza. Anyway, I don't want you or any of the other respectful Italian fans to feel bad because of this.
Nick de vries is the formula E champignon from 2021 and reserve driver for mercedes Williams having mercedes engine was allowed too let him drive Albon having a appendix operation so nick was 1 practice driving for austin martin they also merc engine then 3 practice he jumped in Williams did quali and then the race so realy impressed with him ending p9 End of race the mecanics needed to help hij out the car he could not lift his arms He was electid driver of the day from all the fans
What the highlights didn’t show was the safety car didn’t come out on time and when it did it picked up the wrong driver. So by the time Ricciardo had been moved and the drivers could reorder themselves, there wasn’t enough time to restart it.
firstly if you had seen the race you would have known that the whole race was anticlimactic, and how can you be mad over correct aplication of the rules? that's so dumb, this is supposed to be a serious championship, not a reality tv show
1. They're all pushing and 2. When they were both on the same tyre with the same tyre life, Max's car was 3 tenths faster Maximum. Then both were around 1 second faster than the other when on fresh tyres vs old tyres.
Also all you f1 purists go crazy when 2 back markers are side by side, in nascar and indycar for that matter 2 wide is just another stroll in the park it isn’t uncommon for both series to have 4+ wide racing
This was the 13th time in F1 that a race ended under Safety Car. Neither Christian Horner nor Mattia Binotto liked that. It took long because Daniel's car was switched off when he was driving, stuck in 4th gear. Even though there was an exit route for car, they couldn't move it. Also the pickup truck was not parked at a nearby place, that's why it also took time to come and pick up the car and go back to a safe place.
If there was a restart Max still would have won, he had a set of new softs on his car. Leclerc was not really closing much on Max on the new softs he had for that last stint with Max still on medium, without the SC Max would have won by more than 10 seconds, the moment Ferrari pitted Leclerc that early under the VSC they had lost, Max did 13 laps more on the soft tires they started on , Leclerc never would have made a 1 stop work
I honestly think there's nothing wrong strategy wise for Leclerc this race, Max just has the best car. We all knew Max is gonna eventually pass Charles on pace alone, that's why they tried to gamble Charles to a two stop (Soft-Medium-Soft) race. But still either way with the pace Max and the Red Bull has, plus the epic start he had. It was just his race to lose.
Funny thing, Nyck de Vries was sponsored in F2 by daddy Mazepin to get best competition for Nikita. Nyck won the championship. He is mature and good driver now, just what F1 teams could use... Like replacing Latifi. :P Hope Albon recovers fast and well from appendicitis.
George did this. When he pulled up behind the SC (that took about a lap), the lights were green, so he could/should have overtaken the SC. The rest of the cars simply bunched up behind him (as you do). That alone took them 2 laps to figure out. Then cars have to pass and THEN lapped cars can unlap themselves (took 1 lap each). And then 1 extra lap for the SC to go ‘in’. And we’re across the line. 1000 IQ move from George to finish on the podium, when Sainz would probably have passed him after a restart.
De Vries was doing practice on the Friday with Aston and then got the late call up to drive for Williams because Albon had appendicitis. Given the circumstances, to get points on debut was incredible. If you want to see a bit more of De Vries could always check out Formula E. They recently released a new video of his best moments in the series ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OhH4FPJ_XEQ.html If you want to see FE in general probably their 20 best overtakes video is a good start. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rvJ6h1HVkzE.html
Believe me as someone who paid a lot of money to go to the race, sat through all the sessions, to finish under the safety car was the most disappointing thing, that's not what we pay ridiculous money to see. But even tho I was incredibly disappointed in that, I didn't resort to the disgusting booing like a part of our fanbase did, and as a tifosi, 2nd place for Charles was good to see considering I expected the car to be nowhere this weekend. Also sweetened the weekend when I met Charles in Ristorante Montana in Maranello. Also for people who say that the restart wouldn't have changed the result, yes it would have, it would have been a double Ferrari podium and the midfield would have gone crazy with people all on different tyres. So for you people at home sitting comfortably saying "it's good it ended under the safety car", just imagine if you had paid all that money to fly over and see that race, then you'd change your mind.
Worst ending not realy worst ending would be the 2005 grandprix of united states . ( only top 6 would reciefe points during those days) The 2005 United States Grand Prix (officially the 2005 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix)[5] was a Formula One motor race held on June 19, 2005, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and was the ninth race of the 2005 Formula One World Championship. The event is one of the most notorious motor races in motor sports history. Out of the 20 cars that entered the race, only the six cars from the teams using Bridgestone tyres (Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi) competed. The remaining fourteen entrants, all using Michelin tyres, completed the formation lap, but retired to the pit lane before the race started. Following several tyre failures before the race, which caused major accidents for Ralf Schumacher's Toyota during Friday practice and then for his Toyota stand-in Ricardo Zonta, Michelin advised its seven customer teams that without a reduction in speed in Turn 13, the tyres provided for the race would only be safe for 10 laps. Michelin had been providing working tyres for the race since 2001. The situation was worsened by the 2005 Formula One rules, which forbade tyre changes during the race, and a repave of the oval portion of the course after the 2004 Brickyard 400.[6] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_United_States_Grand_Prix#:~:text=Out%20of%20the%2020%20cars,lane%20before%20the%20race%20started.
The race was nice, another disapointed ending, but for us dutchies we had 2 dutch drivers since the early 2000s on start. And 2 in points on end. Thats a first RB has def. done homework. I hope they be champion at Suzuka Honda homeground, and that they give the win in mexico to checko
If you want to learn more about Nyck de Vries, i recommend that you watch a youtube video named: 'Nyck De Vries: The Wasted talent of Motorsport' made by DylanJamesGP because he goes trough the (junior) career of Nyck de Vries and why he isn't in F1 for the whole season.
To be honest, the FIA screwed up big time all weekend, in all 3 formula events, F1 just being the last... to be honest, there was the issue of the car being stuck in the wrong gear, yes, but the safety car took a while to pick up the leaders and the unlapping of the backmarkers also took forever to be done... if they wanted to at least get the race restarted they should've red flagged things as soon as they knew of an issue with getting the car moved, it would've given them at least time to have one final lap. However nothing says they must absolutely restart the race so they finished it behind the safety car, that in itself was not the biggest issue, it's more in how they handled the whole situation... in the end we all knew Max was winning had nothing occurred so it's not like it messed the result of the race all that much but that's up to each person to decide. But as a side note, yes De Vries did really well for a race in a car he didn't knew and without having any experience in such a long race, he normally races in Formula E.
Oh sure... Because Max really needed the help with his 109 points lead over Leclerc.... Also, if FIA favoured Max so much then why did he have to start P7 instead of P4 like everyone thought he would. Why did Jonathan Wheatly's discussions with the stewards amount to nothing? It would be more in the FIA's interest for Leclerc to win his homerace and close the gap to make the Championship battle slightly more interesting and increase viewership. But yeah, I'm sure your small brain can't handle that kind of thinking. This is literally you guys: FIA not following rules: OUTRAGED FIA following rules: OUTRAGED Man oh man. I despair sometimes. Oh and btw, Max would've won regardless considering he was on new tires and Charles on scrubs.
Delusional much? - Rules were changed at the end of last season - there are different race directors/ FiA president - Very different situation since in Monza there was no time to restart since they hadn’t cleared the track - Max would have won the race regardless
The rules were changed at the end of 2021…. And FYI it was a completely different situation since the track was not clear in Monza while it was clear in Abu Dhabi
@@Rusher-zh9wp The rules were changed in terms of how lapped cars are to overtake the safety car before a restart. Let that have been the issue. If all lapped cars were to overtake in Abu Dahbi no laps would be left for a restart. Since the rules at the time allowed some cars to overtake, the decision was made for a dash for the finish ending. Now the track wasn't clear as you say and thus they couldn't let the thing restart. Nor if some cars were allowed to overtake. It was Mercedes with support of the British fans to demand clearer rules that would be strictly applied. Which we all have to accept, and it happens to produce shitty endings. So either deal with it or complain to the British Mercedes/Hamilton fans if you ask me, because even they are being utter hypocrits again and started to cry about it because in this case Verstappen got lucky and benefitted. You wouldn't hear them if it was any other driver, let alone Hamilton or Russel.
