The sting of it is, although it's hard, but not extremely hard, there is absolutely zero room for error. He has to nail it every time. He is commited from the first frame on. No go around, either nail it or crash. Awesome.
*Pilot flying for the first time:* so where is the port? *Someone in the back:* just behind that 8000 foot mountain and barely few hundred feet before the 9000 foot mountain. *Pilot flying for the first time:* Wait what? Is there a tunnel or something we go through? *Others:* Ma'am/Sir/ they/them.. this is not a a car we are in and we are not driving on some road.. just figure out a way to avoid them mountains while still bring us down alive and in one piece please!
In Microsoft's Flight Simulator it was Flat, didn't have any buildings. I can imagine landing and taking off For Real !! Scary & Exciting all at the same Time !!

Golfo, Costa Rica is a another one. Basically, flying from the Pacific Ocean heading immediately toward a high ridge of mountains. The cool ocean breeze meeting the hot steamy jungle: turbulence, then the pilot must straight away make a dizzying series of the tightest of corkscrew turns while descending onto a tiny golf course for landing. Very Exhilarating. Hats off. ❤
@@Mushroomstamp007 Lukla is operated on a weather permitting basis. As is any airport. I spent 3 hours waiting for my flight, among other 7 flights, because of weather conditions. Could spent even more at New York or London for the same reason
