ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND'S....EVER...I HAVE REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY REPEATEDLY WATCHED THIS VIDEO..THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO.....
I was fortunate enough to grow up in southern Ontario and see Saga live several times at small, intimate venues. They actually played my high school in the late 70's! (That was my first exposure to them - I was hooked). Always a great live show.
My twenties too such good days and the music was fab most of it and the TV shows, films. comedy everything even people were nicer. I'm building a time machine, hope to have it ready soon....lol
Thank you for bringing together these live excerpts, including some unreleased tracks with great sound. I grew up with Saga, a team of unlimited creative genius, just like Genesis. They always bring me so many dreams when I listen to their tracks.
FANTASTIC, i cant get enough of these old concerts, my favorite band of all time, so ahead of their time, once this covid thing is over we will get to see them again!!!! cant wait.
Have you been able to see them since things have gotten better? Would love to see them before it's too late, as an aspiring musician born in 2002. #dontbelate
@@tristanyoung3632 no i haven’t, they were close to me here in Ontario but I couldn’t make it, I’m hoping they reschedule the maxwells date that got canceled in Kitchener.
@@kevinpeaker1353 Ah, same here. I haven't been keeping abreast of their Canadian dates because all the updates I get are full of European dates. Hopefully they reschedule that Kitchener show and come back to Toronto, which would be the easiest trip for me. We'll see them soon. 💪🌠
@@KurtI2525 I found them totally by accident- in the early 90s our satellite TV could pick up German channels, and I started taping “Rockpalast” shows on WDR. Eventually came across SAGA!
I saw SAGA the first time 1980 in Frankfurt Festhalle as opener for Styx. 44 years later my question is :"Who is Styx"? This unique Band with this unbelievable Keyboard rock sound still has a magic for me until today. 3 days ago I buy "Trust", another real masterpiece, sounds like they where "reborn" again 👍
Cool Markus.

Only 1 small pity that the sound is not equal with the video in the first half hour. Just half a second behind. But still they sound so well… great live band. Don’t be late is so awesome to see it played live.
Also he looks better without the poodle perm. Whoever gave him that makeover saved the band's career. I saw this '81 concert on USA network that same year. Then the next year he's rockin' those Jagger pants and the ladies are jumping him like he's Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band).
I may sound ungrateful but on all the uploads I’ve seen of Saga I never heard a version of Don’t Be Late that really does justice to the album version.
wish I knew who they were opening for in the first concert , there's another huge keyboard rig and double kick drum kit off to the sides and behind them
"Scratching the Surface" was interesting. Did Michael Sadler actually leave the stage for that one? And did I see Steve Negus singing backing vocals? 😳 The song was a bit of an outlier in the Saga discography, and I could see how it could have been the seed of what led to Gilmour and Negus leaving Saga.
