This has to be a first for any military campground. Luke AFB MWR actually surveyed a lot of RVers and incorporated their suggestions into their newest famcamp. Instead of being out in the middle of nowhere or at the end of the flight line, Saguaro Skies is within easy walking distance of the Commissary, Exchange, and hospital.

Military campgrounds (or famcamps) are a great benefit to Active Duty, Guard/Reserve, Retired, and some disabled veterans. If you have any questions about eligibility to use them, please contact the military campground you are interested in visiting as each has slightly different rules. All branches of the service (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and even Space Force) operate campgrounds all over the United States and not just on military installations!

The base is really nice too! It is the first one we have ever seen with a parking garage for the exchange. Lol! Seemed a bit weird for us East coasters, but out there the sun is so hot it is normal. Thanks for stopping by!

Not sure I've ever mentioned it, but I really like your format for these camp reviews. A park designed with RVers in mind...smart. I have really been surprised lately at how often I am seeing the results of pet owners not picking up after their dogs. Saguaro Skies at Luke AFB is truly nice. Next to the Commissary and Exchange....a big plus. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Peace!

How come you do a lot of reviews on famcamps but you don’t always stay there?

It is because we are staying at a thousand trails or with with friends who cannot stay at the Famcamps. We also will stay at one and drive to another just to check out the base and/or famcamp. For Luke specifically we were about 45 mins away at a S.M.A.R.T. rally. We went to Luke with friends from the rally who live in the area and decided to film it. Good question though! We try to stay at as many as we can!
