At 3:56AM this morning I noticed a sailboat ~500' from the beach and sent my USAR rescue drone out to investigate if all was okay. I did not see anyone and called the USCG to investigate since it was odd a boat was this close to the shoreline with waves breaking and no one can be seen piloting the vessel. USCG arrived on scene shortly after and about 2.5 hours later a couple was found onboard even after USCG blowing sirens and speakers and flashing lights nobody responded. It was only after the boat was boarded for a welfare check by the USCG was it determined the two souls on board were found okay. It seems the vessel is from the Island of St. Joseph.
