We finally get northerly wind and head south down the Oregon coast, with stops in Garibaldi, Newport, and Bandon.
Our first attempt to leave Newport, the bilge-water alarm drew our attention to issues with the propeller shaft. The PSS shaft seal was spraying water, and a through-bolt in the flange of the shaft coupling was sheared. With help from local marine mechanic, Todd Chandler, we were back on our way a couple days later.
We made landfall in Bandon, Oregon, where Shawn has a sister, and are here enjoying this small, beautiful town until northerly winds return.
