This week we share our personal experiences with managing power and water systems on our Seawind 1160. We recount the adventures and what we whish we had known, from our passage planning experiences, the yacht services we've used (both the good, and the ones that taught us about the marine industry), and discuss our everyday boat maintenance. We explore the challenges we faced, and how we overcame them, and the valuable lessons learned along the way. Subscribe to our channel to hear our stories and learn from our experiences.

If you take care of your systems, they will take care of you….most of the time. 😉

100% true! We even take it more seriously when expecting yucky weather. We don't want our systems to fail while dealing with another problem! 😬 Ask us how we know! 😆

Nice vid, really like that you show and explain the good and bad, to be let down by so say professionals when your on a boat is outrageous, the safety factor alone could be horrendous, they deserve to be named and shamed. How long does all the planning take when your going to move?

I'm not sure how long it takes when we put it all together. We could be keeping an eye on the weather for days to jump at the right opportunity to move, and then if we are moving where are we going with the weather provided. We find that we just have to remain flexible in this lifestyle. Just a couple days ago we realized we had to cut the beautiful day of sailing shorter than originally planned because we were sailing off shore and had to time our entry into a cut with the slack tide. The rip tide can get pretty nasty when trying to enter a narrow cut with reefs/rocks on both sides so better safe than sorry. We tossed around the idea of sharing the company name but decided it was probably best to let it go but in the same breath there is a cautionary tale to be told for other newbies. We learned to keep a closer eye on things and it was a noob mistake to be so trusting.
