Sailing is bliss combined with moments of pure terror and this sail up to the Marquesas was exactly that. One moment we are becalmed and greeted by a pod of dolphins and then the next we are blasted with 30 knots of wind blowing us completely in the wrong direction.
Sometimes you never know what you are going to get our here in the Big Blue, but we will take it all, the ups and the downs.

You guys grow on me more with each passing week. I watch a lot of sailing/adventure vlogs and ya'll are slowly but surely becoming my favorite. I planned to travel after I retired, but God had another plan for me and now I deal with spinal stenosis which has me all but housebound. As an elder (77) who still manifests the dream every day, i thank you for your joy and spirit of can do that is so inspiring. We plan to be in Ahe’ as soon as we can feel total confidence in our preparation. We have no other destination in mind, for now, and will be content to just lie moored off the pearl farm and get involved with the many good things going on there. I know I sound the broken record, but I know ou will fit in there, with Warren’s skills and Erika’s happy personality. Patrick and Josh will show you a side of the islands you can only find by becoming involved and spending real time in the fold. Thank you for being willing to share your journey. It’s cold and gray here in the Bay Area, butu we will be gone soon and on your trail. If you meet Cliff Shaw, say hello. He’s a single hander on a Crowther making the big loop.

Ya it was crazy, and honestly no I wasn’t, this is a matter of personal opinion and comfort I think, and for me I actually feel way safer and more comfortable without it actually, and this goes against popular opinion I’m aware, but the times I’ve been most tripped up on deck were when I was tethered…

I'd be jealous, except for the fact that I am watching your episode in my hot tube with a glass of white wine and a lovely red hair next to me. So I'm watching you sail through a squall while sailing my own catamaran solo down the Australian East Coast and hoping like hell that I don't get your type of squall-- My problem is slowing the boat down, not speeding her up. The dolphins were incredible-- they clearly were happy to be around you, they would have buggered off otherwise. Phil

@@WEsail ah, mine is a small cat... 35' Mark Pescott design (Australian designer known for boats that sail damn well) Built by the previous owner 20 years ago and solid as--not a single squeak anywhere. Weights 4 ton and goes to windward like a train-- deep daggerboards are critical. We average 7-8 knots over 24 hours. But... nothing like the space and luxury you have-- our engine is a single 20hp outboard. She's already done a circumnavigation around Australia including the Southern Ocean so she is a damn good sea boat-- not sure I'd want to go that far south myself.. P

❤🍻⛵️it didn't seem so rough , but then I saw that orange roll on the shelf lol . Just kidding, it's funny how the sea state doesn't really translate on film unless it's absolutely terrifying. Even the big swells don't look like much. We were out in 2 meter chop the other day, and it was intense, but the photos don't match the experience. Keep being awesome!

I had that happen ON LAND yesterday. A run of thunder clouds to my west and north east in a line. Lots of crazy spinning wind around, wondering about mini tornadoes , looking closely at the clouds.Wouldn't it be cool to have a way to see, in a headset something like VR, see those dolphins underwater while you filming them ! ? !

No entiendo como con semejante bendaval solo os desplacéis a 3,26 nudos. Es que a un barco de vela lo mueve el viento, y entiendo que con poco viento se desplace lentamente, pero....cuando el viento supera los 30 nudos...moverse a 3,26! Con vientos de 30 nudos, como mínimo deberíais moveros a 10 o 12 nudos...mínimo y siendo muy conservadores.
