I took my boat out to test the engine for water leaks after the impeller pump repair. Just idling the engine, I was able to get some sailing in too in strong winds.

All looks good. What a beautiful place to sail! Under these breezy conditions.you may want to try letting out the jib a few turns to help you point a bit higher (if need be) and ease any whether helm. Sail on!

Neat to see a Saturn sail! I had never seen one aside from the couple of old ones on my Westerly Discus.

Windy.com and passageweather.com are handy, Vega will do the Atlantic just on the jib, albinvega frigga is worth a look see how e runs his lifeline BRAVO!

Strangford lough is a lot bigger than I imagined. We're do you keep the boat for the winter, I HATE WINTER, good vid Mark, you have inspired me to go for a sail tomorrow 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yes it is quite big. A great place to learn to sail too. But I need to be more confident to venture out onto the Irish sea. There are a few boat yards on the Lough and luckily enough have one right beside my club so I'll be putting the boat there o we the winter. It will be my first time lifting it out since I got it. Hope you had a good day sailing. I'm back out on Wednesday 😁

Why not reefing main around boom?

My Vega doesn't ha a boom rer reefing. Just reefing crangles in the sail and a rams horn

I've just bought my first boat as well,. Did you just get out and go for it single handed from day 1, or did you have someone go out with you for the first few times?

Brilliant. Congratulations 👏. What did you buy? My 1st sail was with 3 friends who knew less than me about sailing, but they helped with getting the boat on and off the marina pontoon. After that 1st sail I was single handed. I just went out for small sails in good weather and slowly built up my skills and confidence.

@@LittleBoatAdventures I bought a 23 foot Southerly. They're not all that common. There's a few in Australia, and some here in New Zealand. Definitely a good little boat to sail single handed. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of your videos and developing my own skills and confidence.
